Take notes allows you to carry around your own personal journal. The default hotkey for the journal is the X button. I already have a mod that uses that button so I changed it to the V button. Take notes really allows you to immerse yourself in Skyrim. You can tell your character’s story anyway you want. What’s your backstory? How did you end up in Skyrim? If you’re not playing the vanilla beginning to Skyrim and you have either random start or live another life it makes this mod that much better. How did you end up wherever those mods decide to place you? What’s your profession?
All of this can be put in your journal. You don’t have a page limit and you can even talk about the different people you encounter since there are multiple categories in your journal. There’s a bestiary that allows you to write about the various monsters you encounter in Skyrim. I’ve been using take notes since it released on the Nexus and it’s really made Skyrim a better experience for me. There’s just something about being able to tell my own character’s story that makes this mod so amazing to use. It actually reminds me of the journal from Morrowind. The only difference is that you write the journal entries yourself this time around.
If you’re looking for a really immersive mod to have in Skyrim than I recommend checking out take notes. Especially if you love writing as much as I do. It really does feel like a regular part of the game and those are always the best mods to have in library.
