Dark Souls II First Impression

I finally got myself a copy of Dark Souls II. I have been wanting to play this game since it came out for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 over a month ago. I had to wait until the PC version of the game came out to finally play one of my most anticipated games of the year and it was so worth it. Many people have been complaining about Dark Souls II not working or how it crashes every two to three minutes. None of that has happened to me. I have Dark Souls II fully maxed out and in 1080p on my 50 inch TV and it runs beautifully.

2014-04-25_00019The PC controls are solid. I don’t believe it, but they’re actually good. If I wanted to I could play this with a mouse and keyboard, but I still used a controller anyway because I think Dark Souls has to be played with a controller to get the full experience of the game. Dark Souls II combat is so much more fluid than it’s predecessors. Everything just feels better and went in and dominated my enemies until I died from stupidity. It was dark and I couldn’t see the floor and I fell off a cliff.

I am a little confused on where I’m supposed to go, but it wouldn’t be Dark Souls if it laid everything out for you to do now would it? This game is great so far and I’m only two hours in. Nothing really challenging has happened to me yet. I know that’s going to change really soon because I’m fighting a bunch of giants right now with my sorcerer and I’m almost out of spells. I have no idea how to level up my character or where to get new spells from. I actually like that because now I have to hunt down my spells and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a bitch trying to get there with just my soul arrow spell to fight enemies off with.

Dark Souls II is a solid port to the PC. I almost didn’t buy this game because of all the complaints about the game, but I’m glad I did. I have literally had no problems with the game and I honestly think it might be something on other people’s rig that’s preventing the game from working correctly.

2014-04-25_00036If you are also scared about purchasing Dark Souls II than don’t. Do what you think is best and just follow your gut. I don’t know what other people are experiencing. I can only tell you what’s going on over here on my end of things and so far everything is working great. If anyone knows how to team up with people I would really appreciate knowing how to do that.

    1. I know all about what stats do what I just needed some decent spells. So far the only shopkeeper that I came across that sold spells sold the exact same spell I already had.
