Nintendo not coming to E3 2014

Greetings to all, this is the first post for and I am happy to be a part of such a wonderful site.

Though I talked about this on my own blog, I thought it would be beneficial to talk about it on this site as well.

Nintendo has announced that they will not be attending E3 2014 instead opting to have their own smaller conference. At Best Buy one will have access to demos of games which did manage to put smiles on fans faces. I am a member of a Wii U group on Facebook which wasted no time in sharing their opinions.

Some are taking up for Nintendo saying that they are making the right decision others like myself, feel that they could have made a better choice.  We are all aware of what E3 is and how amazingly hyped everyone gets with all the promises that are made from various companies. Not only that, attendees get to play demos, get freebies and even get to mingle with developers.  I, like other Fan’s feel that Nintendo should have taken advantage of this time to put itself back on the map. Talk about the Wii U and all the experiences that can be hand on the system.

Putting the games on the big stage will ensure that Nintendo fans all have that moment to rejoice as all the other fans will of their respective companies and consoles.

This is a small post but I wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on this.  Is Nintendo repeating the steps they made prior years? Do you think a smaller conference will have the same effect as taking the stage at E3?

As always thanks for reading I look forward to contributing more to this wonderful website thanks.

  1. This makes it the second year Nintendo is snubbing E3. It’s nice of them to do their own thing, but it gives the impression that they are not confident with competing against Sony/Microsoft.

    1. I don’t it is a competition. Right now both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 are very disappointing. There’s nothing groundbreaking for either console. I already have about 10 games picked out that I’m going to get for the Wii U and that’s three times as many games that I actually want on either of the consoles.
