May – A Great Month To Be A PC Gamer

The month of May has seen some really great games. I’m sure everyone knows about Wolfenstein: The New Order and Watch Dogs, but what about all of the other games that have released this month. On consoles we’ve got the two games I’ve mentioned above, but that’s about it. You can scratch Watch Dogs off my list for consoles because I’ll most likely be getting it for PC when it’s on sale in a few months.

I don’t consider it a day one buy for myself considering how unimpressive the game has been to me. On the PC we’ve got Tropico 5, Men Of War Assault Squad 2, and Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition. That’s 5 well known games that has released this month for the PC. That’s not even counting all of the smaller titles that has released or is going to be released later this month. The Incredible Adventures Of Van Helsing II, Killer Is Dead, The Stomping Land, Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar, and The Forest. I don’t remember the last time I was so broke.

I know it seems like I’m bashing on the consoles. There just isn’t any games on them. There is a new game to play on the PC almost everyday. Not all of them are any good, but at least we have a huge selection of games to look through every month. I haven’t touched my Xbox for this reason.

There are some great looking games coming to both consoles later this year, but what about right now? I know some people will say Watch Dogs, but will that one game really last you for a few more months until anther game comes out on consoles? Not every game that mentioned above will be for everyone, but at least I have different genres of games to look through. It’s not just one fps and an open world game that allows me to control things with my phone. We have seen some really disappointing games this month like Transistor and Bound by Flame.

Bound by Flame so far is the worse game I’ve played this year. I will admit that most of my time this month has gone into Dynasty Warriors. Tropico 5 isn’t even out yet. Neither is Watch Dogs, The Forest, or Killer is Dead, but my point is look how many games I have to look forward to on the PC. What am I looking forward to on the Xbox One right now? I’m getting Wolfenstein on the Xbox One even though I already have it on PC. I’m also looking forward to Halo 5, but that’s next year. There is nothing coming out any time soon that I want on the Xbox or Playstation 4. There are even less games coming out for the Playstation 4 that I want.

Right now the PC is where all the games are at. I can’t wait to see what June has in store for me. Dynasty Warriors 8 almost flew under my radar this month because it wasn’t advertised and it ended being the most selling game on Steam for a while. The month of May has been a good one for me in terms of gaming.

I’m broke, but I’m happy with the choices that I made this month. The good news for my Xbox One is I’ll be using it soon to play Wolfenstein and that game should last me quite awhile since I’m a huge fan of the franchise and so far from what I’ve played on the PC it’s pretty damn good.

  1. I finished my long wished for new PC build a couple of weeks back, and not a moment too soon. I’ll be picking up Watch Dogs for sure, though not sure when yet.

    1. Watch Dogs looks interesting, but it’s just not on my list of games right now. There are a lot of really good games that released this month and I plan on getting them all at some point.
You’re making a good move by getting it on PC though. It looks amazing on the PC and got a downgrade on the consoles which is disappointing. If you’re a fan of strategy games I would recommend Civilization for you to try out :]
