Top 10 Quarterbacks In The NFL Today

Everyone has their personal top ten favorite QB’s list. This isn’t an all time list though. This list of QBs are the one’s that I think are the best in the NFL today. Some of my picks might surprise a lot of people and some of you will most likely think that I should have put some of the young guns in the game today on the list.

10. Cam Newton

Cam Newton and Carolina Panther defense led the Panthers to a playoff appearance last season. Cam had a solid season. He threw for over 3,000 yards and found the endzone 24 times for 13 interceptions. He only had 7 games where he didn’t throw an INT, but with the receivers that this guy had around him you really can’t blame him for having a few bad games.

Steve Smith is obviously in decline and other than that he had no one to really throw to. That’s why he’s always running for his life out there. Cam Newton is turning into quite the QB.

9.  49ers Packers Football

I know this might make some hardcore Aaron Rodgers fans really mad, but I’m being really generous by even having him in my top ten this year. Aaron Rodgers missed 7 games last season with an injury. The only reason why he did make the list is because he is probably the most complete QB in the NFL today and he is regularly in my top 4 QBs playing today.

Greenbay was horrible without Aaron leading them to victory and that’s another reason why he made the list. He came back just in time to help them make the playoffs. Next season I’m expecting him to be back in my top 4.

8. Eli Manning

I know this might have surprised a lot of people. Eli Manning is known for throwing a lot of INTs every season, but in those big moments when everything is on the line is there another QB you would rather have on your team? Eli Manning is a 2 time Superbowl MVP. He shows up in the playoffs and he always has the Patriots number every time they play in big games.

Eli Manning won’t be remembered as the best QB, but he will be remembered as a winning one.

7. Andrew Luck

Andrew Luck didn’t make my list last year because I didn’t think he was that impressive to be honest, but he really showed off his skills last season. He lost Reggie Wayne and everyone, including me, thought that the Colts season was over. We were far from right on that call. Andrew Luck led the Colts to the playoffs again and had a really good season.

He passed for almost 4,000 yards. He threw 23 touchdowns with only 9 INTs without his lead receiver. This young man has a great future ahead of him if he can keep having numbers like that.

6.

Tony Romo

No RG3 is not on this list so that can only mean that I’m talking about the guy on the left. Tony Romo gets a lot of hate from everyone, especially from the “analyst” over at ESPN. Lets take a look at his numbers last season.

Tony Romo threw for exactly 3,828 yards, 31 Touchdowns, and only 10 Interceptions. He had a better year than everyone that I mentioned before him and maybe even better than a few of the guys that are on the list ahead of him.

Tony Romo had a better 2013 season than he did in 2012 and he threw for over 4,000 yards in 20 12. The only reason why I can’t place him in the top 5 is because he chokes in big games. He’s done that his entire career. He has all the skills that an elite QB should have, but he doesn’t use them.

5. NFL: New York Giants at San Diego Chargers

Phillip Rivers has been decline lately or that’s what everyone thought before the monster season that he had. Phillip Rivers had the best season of his career.

He threw 4,478 yards, 32 Touchdowns, and only 11 interceptions. The Chargers were on fire last year. Phillip Rivers proved that he can still put up monster numbers last season. The Chargers are going to be in the playoff hunt again next season. They might even go all the way if Rivers can keep his hot streak going for one more year.

4. Big Ben

The Steelers had so many problems last season. Big Ben wasn’t one of them. Despite the Steelers a 8-8 record, Big Ben still managed to throw for over 4,000 yards and 28 touchdowns. Say what you want about this guy. There’s not a tougher QB in the NFL. I’ve seen him break out of a tackle too many times and throw a bomb down the field for a big TD.

3. downloadTom Brady will always be in the top QBs discussion for many years to come. With no weapons around him he still managed to have a great season and lead his team to yet another championship appearance.

Tom Brady has nothing left to prove to anyone. His records speaks for themselves. This guy has been to 5 Superbowls and won three of them. I don’t think his Superbowl appearances are over just yet.

2. Drew-630x420

Drew Brees was second in yards and touchdown passes only to Peyton Manning. This guy threw for over 5,000 yards, 39 touchdowns, and only 12 interceptions. I’m not a Saints fan. I actually can’t stand them. They beat my team in the Superbowl, but I respect the hell out of Drew Brees for everything that he has accomplished since becoming the starting QB over there.

1. Eagles Broncos FootballThis should really come as no surprise to anyone. Peyton Manning set a new NFL record last season for most touchdowns in a single season with 55 of them. He passed for well over 5,000 yards and tied the record for most TDs in a single game by throwing 7 of them against the Ravens. Did I mention that he only thew 10 INTs?

Yes the Denver Broncos did indeed lose the Superbowl last season, but that’s not only Peyton’s fault. He did his job and got them there. It’s a team effort to win a Superbowl and the entire Broncos team played like shit that day.

This concludes my top 10 QBs in the NFL list. I didn’t add Russel Wilson or Colin Kaepernick because I don’t think they deserve to be on the list. Russel Wilson has a great team around him and honesty any QB could have won that Superbowl with that Seattle defense carrying the game for them. That’s a different story for a different day.
