The other day I wrote about the single player aspect of Destiny. Today, I will be writing about what I think about the pvp portion of Destiny. I wasn’t going to try the pvp out because I’m really not a pvp kind of player in MMO’s, but Destiny’s pvp is actually pretty damn good.
It’s like you’re playing Halo with special powers. It feels exactly like Halo’s multiplayer does and for Halo lovers that’s a great thing. I got my ass handed to me on my first attempt at pvp. Everyone on the other team had a lot of pvp experience. It’s like I was put on a team that was just trying out pvp for the very first time because that’s how we all played.
We were trying to learn the map and get a feel for the game, but that didn’t happen because we were bomb rushed by the enemy. We didn’t stand a chance, but I had a lot of fun just playing against other players.
Destiny’s multiplayer is more fun than Titanfall and that’s a damn shame because all Titanfall has is multiplayer. There are a variety of different multiplayer modes, but we only had access to one in the beta. It’s your basic capture and hold scenario on a small map on Venus.
The match was very fast paced and at times I thought it was too fast because I’m still learning the ins and outs of the pvp portion of the game.
Destiny has become a must buy for me. I love playing it. It’s the most stable beta I’ve ever been a part of. The MMO elements of the game suck right now, but hopefully by release they’ll add in what’s missing. I had quite a few players try and communicate with me by waving or dancing like an idiot, but I would prefer some sort of chat box in the game.
It would make matchmaking a whole lot easier and the game wouldn’t feel so dead.
