Rayman Legends – Short Review

I’ve never been a fan of the Rayman games. I always thought they were stupid so I was really skeptical about playing this game. Rayman Legends is nothing like the original Rayman games.

For starters it’s a lot faster. Rayman will be dashing across the screen punching and kicking enemies out of his way and just jumping from vines, logs, butter, and much more as you try to rescue your friends and complete every stage.

The stages in this game are excellent. This has to be one of the best platformers I’ve had the pleasure of playing. It’s a lot of fun and it’s great for families to play together. Every stage is beautiful and are so unique that I never once got bored during my 12 hour playthrough of the game. In some stages you’ll go from running through a desert filled with raising sand to fighting a giant fire breathing dragon just to reach a little dude that ran out of gas while trying to escape the ass whooping that Rayman was going to give him.

The soundtrack is awesome. Especially the boss fight songs. I loved the castle rock stage. That has to be one of my favorite stages of all time.

Rayman LegendsThe gameplay in Rayman Legends is great. You can run, dash, jump, fight, and swing your way across different stages with a friend in a local co op. You can even beat the shit of each other during stages. It’s a lot of fun. I love running past my wife and punching her in the face with Rayman or “accidentally” knock her off a cliff.

Rayman-Legends-4Rayman Legends is a ton of fun and you can easily spend your whole day laughing with your friends while you play this game. It’s wacky, has some amazing platforming and some of the best level designs in any game that you’ll play. You’ll be doing yourself a disservice by not playing this game. The only thing that is holding this game back from being legendary is the $40 price tag, but if you can find it on sale than it’s definitely worth a playthrough or two.

Our Verdict: 9/10
