Dragon Age Inquisition First Impression

It’s been a really long wait for the next installment to one of my all time favorite game franchises. The first thing that I noticed when I booted up Dragon Age Inquisition is how jaw dropping beautiful it is.

The opening soundtrack really set the tone for what I was about to experience. After I created my character I was thrust into the world of Dragon Age once again. The opening cutscene was a bit confusing, but it’s quickly explained in the next hour or so that you’ll spend in the prologue of the game.

The character creator is the best it’s ever been in a Dragon Age game. I didn’t spend too much time in it, but I can see myself spending hours on just creating the perfect character. I really like how detailed the character creator is.

Dragon Inquisition is probably the best looking game that’s come out this year. I think looks better than Killzone, and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare.

For those of you that are familiar with Dragon Age games you’ll be sucked right into the vast, open world that Bioware has created for us. Conversations play out in typical Bioware fashion and the voice acting, as usual, is top notch.

I can’t wait to find out more about my new, and not so new, companions that I’ve met so far.

From what I’ve experienced so far the gameplay is amazing. You can pause the game like you could in Origins, scrolls out, and tactically plan your party’s next attacks or just get a better look at the situation.

If you’re not into that kind of thing that’s cool because you don’t have to pause the game. You can just run in and start beating the crap out of whatever is in front you. A new minor feature that’s been added into Dragon Age is ability to jump around, or over obstacles that are in your path. You can climb up and down ladders too.

After only playing this for an hour I’m completely sold on the game. I just got to the first open area of the game and I can’t wait to explore it. I might decide to create another character first because I really want to run around as a Qunari Warrior, but I guess I’ll stick with my Elf Rogue for now.

Newcomers to this game will most likely be lost in the vast amount of lore that this game will throw at them. This game is not newcomer friendly and I kind of expected it to be that way because the majority of players that are going to buy this game has already played the first two games in the series. Walking in at part three of anything is asking to be lost in my honest opinion.

I honestly have no idea when my review for this game will be ready. I have a really long way to go and if this game is as big as everyone says it is than I’ll be playing this for a at least two weeks before I’ll be ready to write a full review on it.
