Top 10 Best Multiplayer Games Of 2014

I love gaming with my wife so finding good multiplayer games can be hard some times. This list will have local co op, online multiplayer, and even some competitive multiplayer games on it.

10. Plants Vs Zombies Garden WarfareGarden Warfare

When Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare was first announced I had no idea what to think. Plants vs Zombies had took a completely different turn than it was known for, but I’m glad that it did because this game is a lot of fun. I wish there was more characters to choose from, but that doesn’t take anything away from this very weird game.

9. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing IIVan Helsing

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II is a great game for the price. My wife and I love games like this. Looting and killing random mobs of enemies is a simple formula that works in these kinds of games, but Van Helsing is different enough to stand out from other games because of the tower defense missions that are added in the game. This game is beautiful and it’s one of the best co op experiences I’ve had this year.

8. Borderlands The Pre-Sequel2502084-borderlandspresequelicon2

Borderlands The Pre-Sequel disappointed me. It feels like an expansion to Borderlands 2. The four new vault hunters in the game are just alright. I don’t really like any of them. The idea of playing on the moon was great, but even that was a little disappointing. The Pre-Sequel is still a really fun game to play with friends and there is a ton of things for you to do on the moon. The humor is still there for the most part, but Borderlands 2 is the superior game in just about every area and that’s why this game is so low on my list.

7. Call of Duty Advanced WarfareCall of duty

I haven’t played a Call of Duty game since World at War. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare is a great game. The campaign was surprisingly long and my wife and I had a ton of fun playing both Exo Survival and Multiplayer. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare surprised me and it’s definitely earned it’s place on my list.

6. Civilization: Beyond EarthBeyond Earth

Civilization Beyond Earth is another game that disappointed me. Civilization V is one of the best games I’ve ever played and I had very high expectations for Beyond Earth, but sadly they were never realized. No Civilization game starts off great though. They usually get there over the course of a few years after the expansions add a lot more to the game so I’m still very hopeful for Beyond Earth. My wife and I loved every match that we played against each other.

5. Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition Dynasty Warriors 8

When Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition was announced for the PC I brought it on the very first day it released. This game did surprisingly well. Dynasty Warriors 8 was awesome and I can’t wait for future installments to be announced on the PC. Please bring Empires to the PC.

4. Killer Instinct Killer instinct

Killer Instinct has gotten so much better than it was last year. It’s been overhauled and new fighters are making their way to my favorite fighting game. Beating the crap out of all my friends has never been more fun.

3. Diablo III Ultimate Evil Editiondiablo-3-3

This is probably our most played game on the Xbox One. Diablo III a great local co op game to play with your friends and family. It’s filled with content and offers hours upon hours of looting and killing while you try and get that next piece of legendary gear.

2. Rayman LegendsRayman

Rayman Legends is so much fun. It’s childish humor and over the top platforming had my wife and I laughing out loud while we punched and kicked each other across different stages. The soundtrack is excellent and being able to choose from a host of different characters makes this one of the better games to play on your platform of choice.

1. Dark Souls IIdark souls 2

Dark Souls II is just as brutal as part 1. Once my wife and I learned how to team up easier we had a ton of fun with this game. Just pvp alone is enough to justify putting this game as number 1 on my list. Add in over 50 hours of other stuff to do and you’ve got yourself a candidate for game of the year. Dark Souls II is a game I’m going to be playing for years to come.
