Top 10 RPGs Of 2014

This has been a really good year for RPGs. There has been over 40 RPGs that released this year and we’ve chosen our 10 favorites. This is our top 10 RPGs of 2014.

10. Costume Quest 2CostumeQuest2

I’ve been waiting for this sequel since I completed the first Costume Quest game a few years ago. Costume Quest 2 gives us more of what the first game great. We get new costumes to wear and a brand new adventure to go on. This is one of the most unique games that’s come out this year.

9. Risen 3: Titan Lordsrisen-3-titan-lords-logo-background-desktop

This is the very first time a Risen game has made a top 10 list of mine. The first Risen game was okay I guess. I never finished the second one, but the third one was actually good. It’s a shame I never got a chance to review this game, but I liked what I experienced and hopefully when Risen 4 comes around the gameplay will finally be great. Risen 3 is a good game and it’s definitely earned it’s spot on this list.

8. Divinity Original SinDivinity-Origin-Sin-Cover-cropped

Divinity Original Sin could have been a really great game. Unfortunately it made my top 10 most disappointing games list because that’s exactly what it is. I had fun playing this game because of the gameplay, but everything else works against it and that’s why it’s so low on my list.

7. Child of Light child_of_light

Child of Light is a beautiful game. My wife and I had a ton of fun taking turns in this game. Child of Light told a great story and had some really great looking locations for us to explore. The only downside is the repetitive gameplay.

6. The Banner Sagabanner saga

The Banner Saga is a beautiful game that told a really great story. I love how every decision I made had a consequence. Some times the consequences won’t happen for quite a while, but that’s where the beauty of this game is. Around every corner is a life or death situation and some times there is no easy decision for you to make. I can’t wait for part 2.

5. Diablo IIIdiablo-3-3

Diablo III is our most played game on the Xbox One. We’ve poured countless hours into grinding and getting better loot. This is a great co op game to play with your friends or family. The Reaper of Souls expansion was excellent and really added a lot more content to the game.

4. Fable Anniversary Fable Anniversary

This remake to one of my favorite games is nothing short of amazing. Fable Anniversary is the exact same Fable game that we all know and love, but with HD textures, and some added content. Fable looks amazing it’s well worth the $30 I spent on it.

3. Legend of Grimrock IIlegend_of_grimrock_2_screenshot_1_28461

Legend of Grimrock II gives us more of what we loved from it’s predecessor, but with more content, locations, enemies, loot, and puzzles. This game is old school and it will punish you for making the wrong decisions. Legend of Grimrock is quickly becoming one of my favorite RPGs to play.

2. Dark Souls IIdark_souls_2_3

Dark Souls II is everything that I wanted in a Souls game. It mixed both Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls together to make one brutal experience that I continue to play over and over again. The combat is the best in the series and most of the boss fights are awesome. This is one game that I’ll be playing for years to come.

Dragon Age InquisitionE3-2013-EA-Dragon-Age-Inquisition-036-1280x720

Dragon Age Inquisition did not disappoint. I’ve waited for years to get my hands on the next installment in the Dragon Age series. The open world works surprisingly well and once again Bioware delivered us another excellent game. Dragon Age Inquisition was a easy choice for me to make for my number 1 pick.
