Assassin’s Creed Unity First Impression

Assassin’s Creed Unity has gotten a lot of hate since it’s release. I learned a long time ago to never let word of mouth influence my personal opinion about a game or any form of entertainment. This is what I think after my first hour and a half of Assassin’s Creed Unity.

As soon as I booted up Assassin’s Creed Unity I noticed how beautiful it is. Everything is rich with detail and the physics are amazing. I love watching my clothes sway with the wind. Of course graphics and physics don’t make a game, but it’s a damn good start and it’s something that shouldn’t be ignored.

img-1-1The gameplay has been completely overhauled. Instead of the fast paced combat that we had in Black Flag it’s been slowed down and made more tactical. I don’t know if I like or dislike this yet though. It’s definitely going to take some getting used to because I’m used of jumping down in the middle of 50 dudes and murdering everyone within seconds. This time around I have to counter, roll, and attack when there’s an opening.

Another thing that I noticed was how well I was moving around as this new assassin. Running is easy and a whole lot of fun. Arno is a cool character so far. He’s funny, and a smooth talker. He actually reminds me of Ezio a little. I’m very curious to see what happens later on in the game.

imagesThe voice acting so far is great. Ubisoft always has really good voice acting in all of their games and it was no surprise when that happened to be the case in Unity.

Unity is surprisingly good right now. I’ve never been a big Assassin’s Creed fan, but I can see myself putting some hours in this game. As of right now I don’t see where all hate for this game came from.
