Don’t Get Too Excited About Far Cry Primal

If any other developer was making Far Cry Primal I would be jumping for joy right now, but I remembered at the last second that this is a Ubisoft and it’s most likely going to be downgraded at some point.

If Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed Untiy, and Rainbow Six Siege is anything to go by you should already know what to expect with Far Cry Primal. The short trailer that I watched looked really good, but doesn’t all of Ubisoft games do at first?

I don’t trust this company anymore. Ubisoft has changed a lot over the years. I think their success has gone to their heads and they don’t care about giving us quality products anymore. The days of quality games like Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, and Prince of Persia are gone. Instead we get downgrades, missing content, and lies told to us every year.

far-cry-primal-nuovi-possibili-dettagli-e-speculazioni-sul-gioco-v3-239766I skipped Far Cry 4 because it looked more like Far Cry 3.5 instead of a true sequel. I’m skipping Rainbow Six Siege because it doesn’t have a campaign, it’s boring, and it’s obviously been downgraded like all their other recent IPs. I don’t know if I’m skipping Far Cry Primal yet, but I won’t be surprised if I do.

What do you think? I am overreacting here?

I’m on a roll today. I’m on a negative writing spree here :]. Maybe I’ll find something good to write about as the day goes on.

Far Cry Primal is set to be released February 23, 2016 while the PC port will come some time in March 2016. It looks like I won’t be getting this after all. My mother’s birthday is February 19th I have to get her something nice.

  1. I bought the game FC primal yesterday (dont ask me how). This is my first time playing a far cry game.
Graphics are good , scertinaly not metal gear good but still good. The environment is vast and beautiful. Fighting mechanics whould’ve been descent if it werent for the fact that you cannot dodge in a game thats mostly about close quarters compact, I was really disppointed about this point. This lack of dodging ability problem is compacted by the fact that enemy predators when locked on to you are constitly baggering you with a heavy blow after another without giving you a chance to recover, this is espaciely true about the goddamn bears and in caves where you have not much room to escape.
The other thing I didn’t like is how, although the terrain is vast, nontheless seems too much crowded at times, were too many things are going on around you, from the rare animal you’re trying to hunt or tame to the predator thats simultaneously attacking you to the enemy tribsmen fighting with your tribe, all this is going on while youre running after your rare prey and passing by many usefull plants and items that you wish you had the time to collect on your way! Its not that big of a problem and doesnt happen that often but when it does, it’s not cool.
Nonetheless , the game is unique as i havent played this kind of games before, and its fun and very enjoyable i have to say.

  2. After all previous Far Cry games, i would be really surprised if they fuck it up! It’s the only series from Ubi that hasn’t disappointed me yet

  3. You definitely have every reason to be skeptical. I really enjoyed FC4, and even Unity after waiting months to play it for obvious reasons, but I’ve still learned to stop buying their games at launch for your reasons mentioned above.

    1. I agree about Unity. I purchased Unity, mainly because it came with Black Flag, for $27 on Ebay and I actually enjoyed playing it, but I didn’t buy it day one like everyone else did. I know Ubisoft aren’t as reliable as they used to be. I just hope the Ghost Recon is good. I’m a huge fan of the series.

      1. I felt burned buying Watch Dogs and Unity day one, but after going back to them months later I enjoyed them for what they were. Same with The Crew. They had obvious issues, but I find waiting on any Ubisoft release is probably for the best. They get fixed in a month or two and by then they’re probably $20-$30.

      2. I agree, and I agree about Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed Unity. When Watch Dogs first released it was like a 5/10 because of all the issues I had with it. Now it’s a solid 7. I haven’t completed Unity yet, but so far I’m really enjoying it.

Instead of playing The Crew I got Forza Horizon 2 so I can’t comment on that :].

      3. I picked up Watch Dogs at launch on PS4 and I never successfully connected to the online server once in the first week.. so I traded it in. Picked it up for Xbox One over the summer and really enjoyed it’s open world content. A lot. I heard a lot of complaints about Unity’s ending, but I thought it was good. Its Dead Kings DLC is also definitely worth checking out. Very un-Assassin’s Creed-like lol.

Forza > The Crew, without a doubt. My dad picked up a steering wheel for his Xbox and it came with The Crew for free. It reminds me a lot of Horizon 2 and it’s once-upon-a-time free Fast & Furious DLC.

      4. Far Cry games are usually really good on release day. I’m just a little concerned about having another one so soon. Is this game going to be as big as Far Cry 4 or is it more like a Blood Dragon title? That and not having any guns in a Far Cry game is going to feel weird.

      5. Yeah there was a two year gap between FC3 and FC4, and this will have released a little over a year after the 4th game. With it not being a numbered release, I’m wondering the same thing. Is this a one-off smaller title like Blood Dragon or what?
