Once Again Rise of Tomb Raider Is Releasing At A Bad Time [ For Me ]

Rise of The Tomb Raider is releasing this month for PC! I literally can’t wait to get my hands on this game because it looks really good, but… when I glanced at what was coming out around it I considered skipping it yet again.

Why does this game keep popping up around other games that I really want? The Tomb Raider franchise is not one of my favorite franchises. I actually don’t like any of the older Tomb Raider games.

I liked the reboot enough to give it a  7 a few years ago and Rise of The Tomb Raider looks fantastic, but it’s releasing around the same time some other really good games do and I know I’m going to end up skipping it again.

Dragon’s Dogma, Darkest Dungeon, Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam, Resident Evil Zero, and Xcom 2 all release around the same time as Rise of The Tomb Raider.

I’m interested in all of the titles that I mentioned above, but Tomb Raider, and Xcom release way to close to each other and I know I won’t choose it over Xcom 2. I also really want Dragon’s Dogma, Darkest Dungeon, and Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam more then I want Tomb Raider and I can get them all for around the same price as Tomb Raider by itself.

Xcom 2 is a day one buy for me while Tomb Raider is looking like it’s going to be pushed back to March because there are some games I want to get in February like Fire Emblem: Fates, and Mighty Number 9. Will I ever get around to Rise of The Tomb Raider?

Should I just cave and buy the game? It depends on the lowest price I can find for it I guess. Right now Xcom 2 is the number 1 game on my list followed by Fire Emblem, and Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam.

Are you getting Rise of The Tomb Raider on PC?

  1. Square games go on sale frequently on Steam, so if there’s enough to keep you occupied, maybe just wait until the inevitable Summer Sale discount.

I want Darkest Dungeons for Vita. Looks like a lot of fun.

    1. You’re right. Square games drop in price quickly. I’m sure I’ll be able to get Rise of The Tomb Raider for about $30 in two or three months.

Darkest Dungeon looks really good. I played it a year ago at a friend’s house, but I didn’t want to buy an early access title so I waited :].
