Games I’m Playing While I Wait For Dark Souls III

The wait for Dark Souls III is going by smoothly for me. I’ve been playing random games while I wait for it’s release and it’s been fun so far.

I haven’t been gaming a lot lately. Since I decided to take a break from The Division I’ve been playing a little Warframe, Dragon Age, Skyrim, ESO, and even some Witcher 3.

Warframe:

The Ducat trader is about to appear in Warframe so I’ve been on a void grinding spree lately. I’ve been using my new Saryn P and grinding for useless prime junk while I wait for the trader to appear. I finally built the final piece to Limbo and now all I have to do is wait three days and I’ll have my very first Limbo. I haven’t done much Warframe gaming in the last week or so. That’s pretty much all I’ve done since I took a break from The Division.

Elder Scrolls Online:

I got really bored one day and decided to reinstall ESO. I don’t know why I did, but I got in and created myself a new character. I’m currently level 8 and while the game has gotten a little better then it was a year ago it’s still far from being a good Elder Scrolls game. It’s a solid MMO though, but that’s really not saying much since there are many solid MMOs out there to spend time with.

I am having fun with my new character though. I choose the rogue class for the first time and so far it’s my least favorite of the four classes, but I do like vanishing out of sight and making it rain arrows from the sky with my bow. I haven’t decided on a build yet for him so I’m saving my skill points until I do. I doubt I’m going to play for much longer because it’s a pretty boring game to play alone and no one I know likes the game enough to play with me :[.

Skyrim:

The majority of my time spent in Skyrim was great. It’s aged very well in my opinion and it’s still my favorite open world RPG to play. No other open world game can suck so my of my life away like Skyrim did. I haven’t put any hardcore hours into Skyrim in over a year, but I did create myself a new Nord male and go around doing random shit. I forgot how much fun that was to do in Skyrim and no other game, except Fallout 4, lets me do that. Unfortunately I had to uninstall the game because most of the mods I’m used to using aren’t compatible with windows 10. I have to do a fresh install of the game and be more careful about which mods I decide to use because they can break my game.

Hopefully I’ll have Skyrim up and running again soon, but I’m currently disappointed with it and don’t plan on playing it again just yet.

Dragon Age Inquisition:

Dragon Age™ Inquisition (5)

I keep finding a way back to this game. I put over 300 hours in it on the X1 and honestly I plan on putting the same amount of time on the PC version of the game. I’m only a level 6 warrior right now, but I have all of my party members and I’m enjoying the somewhat revamped skill tree. My warrior elf is cool, but I kind of wish I would have went with a rogue for more dps, but I’m enjoying him so far. I’m trying my best not to create another mage since I’ve never beaten the game with any other class, but it’s pretty hard to resist that urge at the moment.

The Witcher 3:

The Witcher 3 is the big surprise for me on this list. I wasn’t planning on playing this again because it has low replay value in my opinion, but I’m really enjoying it so far. The main reason I downloaded this was to see how my new rig could handle a game like this and it’s performing better then I could have ever hoped. I’m running this game on full ultra settings. The only options I’ve turned down were draw distance [high], shadows [high] and motion blur [off] because it I hate it and I turn it off in every game I play.

I’m only a lowly level 2 at the moment, but I’ve decided to go ahead and play through the entire game again since it’s already on my computer.

The Witcher 3 review can be found here.

The game that’ll most likely be completed before Dark Souls III gets here is Dragon Age. I’m really invested in my new character and I really want to complete this game.

What have you been playing lately? Are you looking forward to Dark Souls III?

    1. I agree about the gameplay. That’s why I only played through it once. The alternative move mode makes it better, but it’s still not on par with any souls game imo.

      1. Have you played Metal gear solid 5 phantom pain by any chance. I want to know your thoughts on that one?
Also any thought on the fallout 4 survival mode overhaul?

      2. I boycotted Phantom Pain so no I haven’t tried it. I haven’t played Fallout in a few months. I’ve been focusing on getting through my backlog of games on Steam so I can’t comment on that either, but if Fallout 4’s survival mode is anything like my modded Skyrim then it should be good.
