There are unconfirmed rumors that we’ll get a Xenoblade Chronicles X2 game. Here’s my list of things that I would like to see if a second game in the X series releases.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is the best game I’ve played on Wii U. It’s one of many reasons to buy a Wii U in my opinion. Xenoblade Chronicles X really shows off what the Wii U is capable of and proves that open world RPGs sell well on the console. Here’s my list of things that I would like to see in the next Xenoblade game.
Xenoblade Chronicle X’s multiplayer was really lacking when compared to the rest of the game. It was the feature that I used least in the game. How awesome would it be if the next game had full multiplayer that let us play through the entire game with our friends. They can either do what FF14 does and make story missions only playable solo or give us a story that makes the multiplayer aspect of it make sense. Either way I’m all for having multiplayer in the next game if it’s done correctly.
A Better Story:
The story in Xenoblade Chronicles X was good don’t get me wrong, but it could have been much better and since it ended on a cliff hanger doesn’t that mean we’re either getting an expansion, which is unlikely, or a full sequel so we can find out what the hell happened at the end of the game? If a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles X doesn’t release I’ll be disappointed simply because I’ll never know what happened next, but a common thing in JRPGs in my opinion is a lack of good storytelling.
The real problem I had wasn’t exactly with the story although I think it could be better. The voice acting is really what made what was supposed to be heartfelt moments feel flat because the voice actors didn’t have any emotion in their voice whatsoever.
If you’re a big fan of the genre you might not have a problem with it, but I do. It’s just not great storytelling in my opinion and it’s overly reliant on anime. Those are two things I want to see change in the next installment of the game.
Keep The Dialogue on Point Please:
One of the few problems I have with just about every JRPG is with the dialogue. It takes forever for them to finish talking. In Xenoblade Chronicles X they took forever to make their point or talked way pass the point in the conversation. Some of the things the npcs talked about were pointless and had nothing to do with anything that was going on. I blame Tatsu for that…
Keep Tatsu To A Minimum Please:
Tatsu is one of the most annoying characters I’ve had to endure in all my years of gaming. He’s supposed to be the funny npc in the game, but everything he said was mostly annoying in my opinion. I couldn’t stand him and every time he talked I imagined myself punting him off of the highest cliff in Primordia.
That pretty much wraps up what I want to see improved on in the sequel. Xenoblade Chronicles X is the best game I played last year and was my game of the year. If you want to check out my review on the game click here. If you want to see our game of the year awards click here.
If you’ve never played Xenoblade Chronicles X I highly recommend checking it out.
