The Crew (PC) First Impression

The Crew, so far, is your average racing game. Good thing I got it for free right?

I was not one of the people that was excited about The Crew when it announced. I thought it looked average at best and so far my thoughts about the game hasn’t changed at all. I’m about an hour in and I’m not really enjoying it. It’s partly because I’m very restricted in where I’m allowed to drive. I can’t just leave Detroit and go down to Florida because I have to do the tutorial missions.

The story, if that’s what you can call it, is complete crap. I’m not interested in it at all. The controls are nice and the graphics are pretty, but I feel like I’ve played this game before. It feels like a open world Need for Speed game. Why play this when I just play that instead?

Ten minutes into the game was enough for me to mute the music and just listen to the sound of my car because I really hated the tracks that were playing. I’m not into hip hop or modern music and I would prefer to hear nothing instead of that shit.

I mentioned that the graphics were very pretty and they are, but The Crew isn’t the best looking racing game on the market. It’s actually nowhere near the best looking racing game on the market. I’m much more excited about playing my first Forza Horizon game then I am about than I am about The Crew.

The Crew is alright, but I doubt I’ll stick with it for long. I’m just not into it at all. It was a free download so I’m not complaining, but if I had dropped some cash on this game it’ll be a different story.
