ESO Is Finally A Real Elder Scrolls Game

The One Tamriel update made some drastic changes to The Elder Scrolls Online that should have been in the game when it released two years ago.

The Elder Scrolls Online is finally a real Elder Scrolls game. Back when One Tamriel was announced I was really skeptical about it because ESO had done everything it could to push away hardcore Elder Scrolls fans.

Zenimax must have seen the light, or ESO’s low playerbase, because they finally gave us what we wanted in the Elder Scrolls and that’s exploration. The Elder Scrolls has always been about exploring the world around us and forging our own stories. I might finally have a chance to do that here in ESO and I’m looking forward to it.

It felt really good to walk around a area that I knew I wasn’t allowed in a few months ago. All of the enemies are scaled to my level and I loved it. I don’t have to worry about dying from higher level enemies anymore and I can explore at my own pace and tackle the main quest whenever I want. I can do interesting side quest or just explore aimlessly and complete whatever quest that pops up near me. Having choices like this is what makes a Elder Scrolls game and makes ESO a much better game.

The starting area in ESO is filled with newly created characters. A few months ago it was a barren wasteland and I could take my time getting to chest, and all of the ore around the island. I can’t do that anymore because the map is filled with people fighting for all of it and it was fun. I managed to get a bunch of iron ore in some secluded spots. I think the way killing enemies was reworked too. Before if I joined in and killed a enemy that someone else was fighting I wouldn’t get any loot. I did that multiple times tonight and was rewarded for it. So far I’m liking the new ESO. It brought some good changes to the game and I’m looking forward to jumping back in it soon.

I’m not the only one because the game is really busy right now. It looks like the Elder Scrolls fans are giving the game another shot too. If you’ve been on the fence about ESO now might be a good time to try it out.
