Hit or Miss – December Part 1

It’s December and you know what that means? It’s time for another edition of my hit or miss series.

Dead Rising 4

Dead Rising is one of my least favorite zombie games for one reason. That annoying fucking timer that forces me to rush when I want to take my time and complete the game. Dead Rising 4 is the first Dead Rising game to get rid of that annoying feature and I’m actually looking forward to this game now. I wrote this down as a miss in my notebook until I read that the timer was gone. I changed my mind as soon as I read that. I’ll get this when it’s $30

Verdict – Wait For Sale

The Walking Dead Season 3

We’ve got another Telltale game releasing this year. The popular The Walking Dead game is getting it’s third season, but I have no interest in it. Telltale games have become stale to me and I skipped the last few games that they released. I think I’ll do the same with this one.

Verdict – Miss

Shadow Tactics Blades of Shogun

This is a real time strategy samurai game. I can assassinate my enemies or charge in and fight them head on. I’m really interested in this game, but I’m not sure how much this game will cost yet. If this is a $20 title I’ll buy it. If it’s more than that I’ll wait for it to go on sale.

Verdict – Undecided

I didn’t think much of this game until I watched a gameplay trailer of it earlier today. It actually looks really decent. It seems like it might have a good story, gameplay, and cast of characters. I love the gameplay too so I might buy this when it releases later this month.

Verdict – Hit

Stick around for part 2 of my hit or miss series if you want to know what other games are releasing this month.

  1. I don’t like timers either. Given the choice I prefer to take my time and explore rather than feel rushed. The recent Batman Telltale game was cool, but then again I am one of those people who has yet to get tired of the Telltale style of games.

    1. The Batman game looks cool, but I grew tired of Telltale after The Wolf Among Us :).

Timers make me feel rushed. Even if I know I have enough time to do what I want I’ll still end up feeling rushed for some reason.
