Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2017

2017 is stacked with good looking games so far. I’ve chosen my 10 favorites for my top 10 most anticipated games of 2016!

10. Vampyr

I haven’t played a good vampire game in a really long time. Vampyr looks really good, but I’ll admit that the combat is pretty stale. I’m still really excited for this game and I can’t wait for a release date to be announced.

9. Ghost Recon: Wildlands

I love the Ghost Recon franchise, but this is a different Ubisoft that we’re talking about here. I’m still excited for this game, but I’ve tailored my expectations a little.

8. Nier: Automata

Weird name, but I’m really excited for this game since it’s no longer a PS4 exclusive. Nier looks really good. It’s not the prettiest looking game I’ve ever seen, but the gameplay looks really good. I love how loose the dodging seems to be and I have natural love for any game that lets me use a big ass sword.

7. For Honor

I know what I’m going to be doing on Valentines Day. Playing For Honor and listening to Marilyn Manson’s new album that releases on the same day.

6. Nioh

Nioh is one of those games that make me regret not owning a PS4. It looks fantastic and I really want it. Nioh is heavily inspired by Dark Souls, but you play as a badass Samurai warrior instead of a chosen undead.

5. Absolver

This game reminds me of Jade Empire. Jade Empire was a flawed gem not never realized it’s full potential. Absolver is a martial arts role playing game and it looks really fucking good. It gave a Jade Empire feel while watching it and that’s never a bad thing.

4. Dragon Quest XI

I’m a huge Dragon Quest fan. Dragon Quest XI is making it’s way to the Nintendo Switch, and Playstation 4 this year and I plan on getting it day one for the Switch.

3. Mass Effect Andromeda

I’m really hyped for Mass Effect Andromeda. This game looks fantastic, but I do have some concerns about the game. I’m not a huge fan of Ryder so far, but that’s because Bioware hasn’t really shown off anything really impressive besides the graphics and open world. This is definitely a day one buy for me though. I need some more Mass Effect in my life.

2. Death’s Gambit

The Castlevania nut in me is going crazy for this game. I can’t believe it’s almost here. Some people like to compare games like this to Dark Souls. It honestly doesn’t give me that vibe. It looks like a classic Castlevania game with awesome customization. This is another day one buy.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild

The new Zelda game is finally releasing this year. It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve had a new Zelda game. The wait is almost over and we know for a fact that’s it’s releasing some time this year. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game.

Honorable Mentions

Crackdown 3

Scalebound

Eitr

If Pokemon Stars is real it’s my new number 1. I didn’t want to add it on this list because it hasn’t been confirmed. I wanted to stick with games that we know exist.

What are you most anticipated games of 2017.

    1. I’ll have For Honor really soon. I’m really looking forward to it. Hopefully I’ll have Nioh this year, but it’ll most likely be next year.

I… don’t really like Hideo Kojima’s games so I’m not really looking forward to Death Stranding :).

      Thanks for commenting.

  1. Totally agree with most of your list, especially #1. I can’t wait for Breath of the Wild. That, Persona 5, Dragon Quest VIII, Dragon Quest XI, Dragon Quest Heroes 2, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and whatever launches with the Switch are at the top of my list.

    1. I completely forgot about Dragon Quest VIII. I had no idea there was a Dragon Quest Heroes 2, but I’m a little disappointed that’s a PS4 exclusive since the first one was also on PC. I guess that means I’m not getting it :).

I don’t know why I’m not excited about Horizon. It’s a good looking game graphically, but so far I’ve been pretty underwhelmed with it. I can’t wait to watch some lets plays of it though.

No top 10 anticipated game list would be complete without Breath of the Wild in my opinion :).

Did you hear about Beyond Good and Evil 2 btw?

      1. I did, but I’m in the minority camp that never cared about the original Beyond Good & Evil. Not that I think it’s bad, I just haven’t played it and have no attachment to it. It’s on my PS3 though and hopefully I’ll get to it soon.

Did they confirm that DQ Heroes 2 was only releasing on PS4? That’s a bummer for PC gamers, man. DQ Heroes was fucking AWESOME.

I’ve never liked anything Guerrilla Games have developed, so I’m cautiously optimistic about Horizon. But it’s an action RPG, which is one of my favorite genres, so I can’t help but be excited. I know Sony is banking hard on it being a huge game, and I don’t think they’ll send it out to die in mediocre shape. (hopefully, lol)

    1. Crackdown 3 looks interesting, but I’ve never been big on the series. I am very curious about it though. Mass Effect should be great, and I’m expecting Zelda to be my GOTY.

  2. I think you mean most anticipated games of 2017 😉

From your list I am looking forward to Mass Effect and am curious to see how Nier will turn out. Persona 5 however is the game I can’t wait to play.

    1. LOL you’re right :). It takes my brain a little while before I register a new year. I’ll get on fixing that though.

I’ve, sadly, never played a Persona game.
