For Honor – Closed Beta Final Impression

I’ve spent the better part of the last two days playing For Honor and it’s a lot of fun. Here is my final impression of the closed beta.

For Honor is awesome. It’s a lot better then I thought it would be and it’s not a hack and slash game at all. There’s a lot of tactics involved in every fight. Whether it’s a 1v1 or 4v4 you’ll be using every maneuver you can to outsmart, and crush your opponent into the ground. You can do this by using brute force or by using the environments around you to your advantage.

My faction of choice was the vikings. I’m happy to report that we’re currently crushing both the knights, and samurai into submission :).

Here are some of my personal stats since I’ve started playing:

Win Ratio – 72%

KDA – 2.3

Most Used Character – Raider (big ass viking with a big ass axe)

Raider Win Ratio – 2.6

I think I did rather well and I’m surprisingly good at this game. I usually shy away from multiplayer games, but this one has me hooked. I love the medieval setting and I think the gameplay is fantastic.

As far as closed betas go this one was above average. I had a lot of connectivity issues and I hope they’re fixed before release day because I plan on buying this on day one. I’ve been disconnected from matches and I crashed to desktop about 7 times today but it didn’t take away from the fun that I had when i did work. This definitely felt like a closed beta, but I am a little concerned since we’re getting pretty close to release.

I loved For Honor. I gave it some love in my top 10 most anticipated games of 2017, but I didn’t expect it to exceed my expectations. I really liked it.

Did you participate in the closed beta? What did you think of it?

    1. I never got a Dark Souls vibe from it. I honestly have no idea what to compare it to. Mount and Blade is probably the closest thing that comes to mind right, but it also has a hint of Dynasty Warriors in it too. I smack mobs around like Guan Yu, but when I run into a player I need to hit the ctrl button to get into my fighting stance.
