Hit or Miss February – Part 2

Here’s part 2 to my hit or miss series for February.

Hollow Knight (PC)

Hollow Knight is a great looking 2D Metroidvania game. I fell in love with it when I watched the trailer. It looks like a game I could sink a solid 100 hours into like I did with Salt and Sanctuary. The platforming, boss fights, and skill tree all have me very excited to try this game out later this month.

Verdict – Hit

Nioh (PS4)

Games like this make me regret not having a PS4. Nioh looks fantastic and I really want to play it, but I have no plans to buy a PS4 at the moment.

Verdict – Miss (Hit if I owned a PS4),

Story of Seasons: Trio Town (3DS)

The true successor of Harvest Moon’s latest game is releasing later this month and I mixed feelings on it. After playing so much Stardew Valley I’m questioning whether or not to buy this one. The Harvest Moon fan in me will most likely rush out and buy this game as soon Nas it releases, but Story of Seasons has had some ups and downs. Lets hope this game has everything we want in it.

Verdict – Undecided

Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4)

This is another game that’s on my radar. Horizon Zero Dawn looks really good and I’m a sucker for open world games. The only problem is I don’t own the console it’s releasing on :).

Verdict – Miss (Hit if I owned a PS4)

And that wraps up this month’s edition of my hit or miss series. If you missed part one you can find it here.

What games are you looking forward to playing this month?

    1. Quite a bit actually. I’m still not 100% sold on the console. If I buy one I’ll only own about 4 games on it and there are some pretty good rumors that Nioh will come to the PC next year.At the end of the day I’ll still choose PC games/exclusives over the PS4.

I did mention on Twitter that I should have one by the end of the year though :). Need to buy a Switch first.

  1. Nioh and Horizon are two that I’ll definitely check out later on. My backlog is still insane and I’m trying to do some work on it before the Switch release. I’ll grab both later on after their respective price drops, along with Ys Origin on Vita and Night in the Woods on PS4.

I don’t necessarily care about For Honor, but I’d at least rent it to check out the campaign. Halo Wars 2 and Sniper Elite 4, the other major releases, are both uninteresting to me.

    1. Since I love stealth games I dig Sniper Elite, but it’s far from being a day one purchase for me. The first Halo Wars sucked in my opinion so I’m not really hyped for the second one. I will probably still try it out just so I can review it.

For Honor is fun. I love it :). Let me know how you like Nioh, and Horizon. I’m interesting in both of those games.

      1. I like stealth games as well, but that series has never been a day one purchase for me either lol. I’d rent it at best, or do an impulse grab if it’s around $10 for a rainy day. All of the footage I’ve seen for it so far looks.. rough.

Since I’m primarily a console player I’ve never had much exposure to RTS games, so I never got in to them. Way too much going on my for ADD brain to handle lol.

      2. I agree with you on Sniper Elite. The game looks very rough around the edges. I won’t be surprised if it has a buggy launch. Most open world games do.

The RTS genre is dying. It has been for years, but there are some good ones out there. I’m more of a turn based strategy gamer. Civilization, Endless Legend, Age of Wonder, etc. I do love Total War though, and Grey Goo.
