Hit or Miss – May Part 2

There’s a lot to go over in this edition of my hit or miss series. Here’s the rest of May’s lineup of games!

Mages of Mystralia (PC, PS4)

Mages of Mystralia looks really good. I love the spells mechanic, and puzzle solving elements. It looks like a Legend of Zelda game with a wizard main protagonist. The only problem is I hear it’s quite short for the asking price.

Verdict – Wait For a Sale

Regalia of Men and Monarchs – (PC)

Regalia of Men and Monarchs plays like a Fire Emblem game. I got some strong Fire Emblem vibes from the gameplay trailer and I need it in my life.

Verdict – Hit!

Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island – (PC)

Skylar & Plux looks really interesting, but it’s a really short game. It’s only $10, but it’s also only 2 hours long and I’m not sure I want to invest in such a short game right now. I like the art style, and the gameplay looks sort of like Ratchet and Clank. I might add this to my library one day, but I’m good for now.

Verdict – Miss!

Operation Babel: New Tokyo Legacy (PC/PS Vita)

New Tokyo Legacy plays like Wizardry, Etrian Odyssey, and Legend of Grimrock games. The only difference is those games are actually really interesting to play while this one looks really dull. I’ll pass…

Verdict – Miss!

Dead Cells – (PC)

Dead Cells is Metroidvania with rogue-lite elements. Imagine playing Castlevania, but when you die you have to start from the very beginning of the game and have to do everything all over again. That’s what Dead Cells is and honestly it’s why I have brought the game yet. I’m not in the mood to play something like this right now, but it’s on my wishlist.

The Verdict – Hit!

Endless Space 2 – (PC)

I’ve had this game on my wishlist for months. The only thing that kept me from buying was the early access tag on it. It’s officially been released and I’m really excited to finally have a chance to play it. If you’re a lover of space/strategy games you need to buy this game.

Verdict – Hit!

    1. The game I want to play the most is Endless Space 2. Strategy games are my favorite genre and I’ve been looking forward to Endless Space for quite a while now. I can wait for Dead Cells to leave early access before I buy :).

      1. I agree. I tend to play new games I buy a lot and I don’t want to get burned out on something before it officially releases :).
