What I’ve Been Up To

I’m finally back and it feels good too!

After nearly two weeks of waiting the Internet is finally back on at home. The biggest problem I had going so long without Internet is my children’s schooling. They go to online school and an Internet connection is required for them to take their courses and communicate with their teachers.

I really missed writing here. I’ve taken breaks before, but this time was different because I didn’t want to take a break. I wanted to keep writing and couldn’t because it’s over a 2 mile walk to the nearest McDonald’s  and in this heat that’s not something I wanted to do. Their Wi Fi sucked too.

I wasn’t completely bored since I’ve been away. I completed Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. I have about 26 hours of gameplay in it and it’s really good. It’s not my favorite Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game, but it’s one of them. The story was surprisingly dark too. I never expected that from a Pokemon game and I was drawn in and couldn’t put the game down until I finished it. I don’t like the way to recruit new Pokemon to my team, but I really enjoyed the overall experience of everything and I recommend it if you’re into Mystery Dungeon games.

I’ve also been playing a lot of Bravely Second lately. I have about 18 hours in it and I’m in love with it. I took a brief break to finish Super Mystery Dungeon. I’m about to get the Thief asterisk and my entire party is level 20-22. Most of my time has went to grinding and I haven’t had a hard time in battle yet because of it.

I also played through Pokemon Moon again and this playthrough was just as good as my first one. It was painful to delete my old save file, but I ended up with a team that was better than my first one and I destroyed the Pokemon League this time around. I’m even training a team just for competitive play and I even bought Pokemon Y so I can play through that again.

On the Switch I’ve been playing through Breath of The Wild. I’m really enjoying it since I put it on the shelf for awhile. I was burned out a few months ago and couldn’t play it anymore after putting over 70 hours on the Wii U version of the game. I’m totally immersed in the world of Zelda again and I plan on playing through the entire game again, but I’m going to take my sweet time doing it.

I’m also making my through Disgaea 5 and I’m convinced that it’s the best game I’ve played this year by far. I love just about everything about it and I can’t get enough of it.  love my Switch and I love the games I own for it.

What you been up to?

  1. I’m like you with BOTW. Beat it on Wii U, sold it and then got it on Switch. I actually tried playing a bit, and on Master mode and felt the same way. Leaving it for over a month and coming back, it feels more refreshing and there’s no pressure to get through stuff super quick, i can play it all relaxed. Such a good game to have on the go.

    1. After that long break from BOTW I’m having fun with it again. I was burned out and trying playing it on my new console because it was all I had at one point. I’m enjoying it a lot more now.

It feels good to type again too. I was hit hard by Irma and was without power, and water for a few days.

    1. Disgaea 5 is so good. I hope you like it :). I need Mario + Rabbids, but I’m completely broke after the move and probably won’t be able to buy games until October.

      1. Mario + Rabbids is quickly falling out of my rotation. It’s fun, the combat is good, but there’s not much else to it, and I just need more in my RPGs. It does make me want to check out XCOM 2, though.

I’ll keep you posted on Disgaea 5.

      2. Mario + Rabbids looks like a lighthearted Xcom game to me. I’m super excited to play it. I’m not expecting it to match Xcom, but I want to support it :). Disgaea 5 is over the top fun with a funny story that’s not supposed to be taken seriously. I love it.

      3. I liked the older Disgaea titles on PS2, so I’m sure I’ll dig this one. Mario + Rabbids is basically diet XCOM without permadeath and a super weak upgrade system. It’s definitely fun, but I’d just like more from it than “XCOM, but with Mario cameos.”
