Lets Talk About Deemo!

Deemo is a neat little music game that dropped on the Switch recently and it was completely overlooked. I own this game on my phone and decided to see how well it plays on the Switch.

Deemo is a pretty cool music game that’s available on the Switch. The only way to play, at the moment, is by removing your Joy Cons and playing the game like you would on your phone. This game shows off how great the touchscreen on the Switch is. I’ve swiped my fingers from the left to right to get a neat combo going and played through an entire book tonight in about an hour.

The music, so far, is good. It’s not great, yet, but I’ve already fallen in love with about 4 songs that I’ve played through tonight. There are multiple song books to play through and I’ve unlocked about 8 or 9 of them. I have no idea how many songs are in each book. Think of Deemo like you would Guitar Hero just without the Guitars. This game’s instrument of choice is the piano and it’s great. It’s like I’m playing Piano Hero and some songs were really challenging.

The Switch version is my favorite version. The screen is much bigger than my phone and the touchscreen is better too. Deemo didn’t get a lot of attention when it released and that’s a shame because this is a great little game. If you like rhythm games like Guitar Hero you’ll probably love this game. The only problem is the price tag. This game is $30 on eshop. It’s only $1.99 on the phone and $14.99 on the Vita. I haven’t played through each book so I have no idea what type of value there is here, but I don’t regret buying it at all. If you’re not a fan of this genre then you probably would.

What do you think of Deemo? Have you played it?
