Age Of Wushu and Wulin are the exact same game with a few minor things to separate them. For starters if you’re looking for excellent dev support then play Wulin. Wulin also has nicer players but it’s not as big as Wushu. Age Of Wushu has a many more people playing it right now then Wulin but most of them are jerks. At least the ones that I met so far are. Since I’m currently playing Age Of Wulin right now that will be the game that I base my first impressions off of and will be the only one mentioned for the rest of this article.
Age Of Wulin is a beautiful game if you can max out all the settings. There are many options for you to choose from and you’ll definitely notice the difference in the environments while you play. The soundtrack is beautiful, and story so far is actually pretty good. You’re not just roaming from place to place doing random fetch quest or killing monsters. It actually takes quite a while for you to fight anything in this game. For the first hour or two you’ll mostly be training your character in martial arts by going to various different teachers, and students. I actually really like that for some odd reason. It’s a nice change of pace from your average mmo. Another neat feature [at least for gaming couples anyway] is that you can get married in the game.
That probably doesn’t sound very appealing to most of you but my wife and I game together regularly and we love that option in the game. Of course you can’t just get married in the beginning of the game. You have to start off as friends, then close friends, and you’ll slowly progress from there as you play the game together. It’s really neat and adds to the game. Age Of Wulin has an excellent quest tracking system that will take you to where you need to go to you won’t roam around aimlessly looking for your next quest objective. The animations so far are actually quite nice and in tougher fights you’ll want to have good tactics by blocking until your enemy presents an opening. This game doesn’t play like Blade and Soul, and C9. The combat is slower but the amount of features in this game is double what C9 has.
If you’re looking for a good Chinese MMO that’s in English then I highly recommend Age Of Wulin. If you’re looking for a more action based Chinese MMO then Raider Z, C9, and Blade and Soul [is not in English] are other really good choices. Yulgang 2 is also a really good Chinese MMO that honestly reminds me of Dragon Ball Z because of the way you can dash through the air at later levels.
