Blade And Soul First Impressions

Spread the Word!

I got tired of waiting for NC Soft to port Blade and Soul to America so I decided to make a Chinese account and play it on the Chinese Servers and I’m glad I did. Blade and Soul is amazing. Blade and Soul has a very unique style of gameplay going for it. You can click the left mouse button to attack and mix and match your combos as you level up. My character specializes in hand to hand combat and so far this is a pretty beastly class to use but it’s also a little difficult because all of the enemies that I’ve encountered so far have weapons and some of them even have guns. It was pretty awesome when I deflected a bullet back at the guy shooting at me though.

Blade-and-Soul-2You can even knock enemies on the ground using a sweep attack then after they’re on the ground you can jump on top of them and punch them to death or even headbutt them to death. The quest system is interesting even though I’m having a hard time understanding some of it. I know where I’m supposed to go and what I’m supposed to do but my Chinese is very limited and I’m often confused as to why I’m doing these things. That’s why I really wish there was a English Version of the game. Every npc character so far is fully voice acted and for the most part it’s well done. The armor sets in the game are beautiful. I haven’t seen many yet but even the armor you start off in looks nice and that really adds to the enjoyment of the game for me. I like to have a sense of progression in a game and right now Blade and Soul is definitely doing that for me.

I would definitely recommend Blade and Soul to anyone looking for a good Chinese MMO to play right. I can also recommend Yulgang 2, Raider Z, C9, and of course Age of Wushu. All of those games are great but lack what Blade and Soul has. Maybe one day Blade and Soul will be released here in America and until that day comes I’ll have to settle for playing on the Chinese Servers for now. Even though my ping really sucks and I can’t run the game higher then 25 fps it’s still quite an experience to be had.

Don’t forget to click on that Follow Us button for the latest sports, games, movies, and more. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you did I’ll have more for you real soon.

Hopefully it gets localised because it sounds interesting. I cannot imagine playing an MMO in a language I don’t understand (which is why I haven’t checked out the latest Phantasy Star Online.)

I’ve actually played that one too. I can understand Japanese a lot more then Chinese. It’s not really that hard to learn it

I bow down to your superior linguistic skills. I have yet to master English let alone oriental characters 🙂

Lol. Thanks :]. I guess it just takes some dedication. I’m learning Russian as well and so far that’s a lot of fun.
