Divinity Original Sin Now On Steam

Spread the Word!

downloadThis game literally came out of nowhere. I’ve been following the progress of the game and I usually do a really good job of keeping up with the games that release on Steam but this one slipped through. Divinity Original Sin is now in early access [like so many other games are now doing] and you can choose whether or not you want to jump in the game right now and play through the first 15 hours of the game. There’s only one problem with that for me right now and that’s the 40$ price tag on the game. First i’m going to show you guys the game trailer before I tell you why the 40 dollar price tag is a problem.

In the trailer it says you have over 50 hours of gameplay content available in the final version of the game. That sounds great and the game looks great and I really want this game but we’re only going to get the first 15 hours for 40$? That just doesn’t sit right with me at all. Now if the early access version of the game was about 20$ then I would jump on that deal in a heartbeat but 40$ is asking to much for a game that’s not even half done. 15 hours of gameplay for 40$ isn’t fair in my opinion and that’s why i’m going to skip this game for now even though it pains me to do so.

images (3)  A lot of developers are doing early access games and half the time the game never gets fixed. Or at least that’s what it seems like because there are an increasing amount of early access games on Steam and I understand that certain people want to support the development of the game but isn’t that what a kickstarter is for? I won’t pay full price for an a game that’s not finished and I encourage all of you to really think about whether a 40$ price tag is worth it for an early access game or if it would fair to have the price lowered to something more reasonable. Don’t rush off and buy an early access game that’s cost way to much money.

I don’t like how impatient players are being exploited into paying lots of money to do a company a favor by bug testing their products. These days shoppers are surrendering too much power to businesses.

I agree and that’s why I’m not getting it. If I do it’ll be to write about it so I can let everyone know exactly what they’re buying. 40 dollars is a lot of money for a game that’s not finished though.
