3DS Game Review 3

Fairune Review (3DS)

Spread the Word!

When I first discovered Fairune I thought it was a just like the old Zelda games… I was very wrong.Β

Fairune is available on both the 3DS, and the Google Play store. I had no idea it was a phone game until I came across it on the phone while I was browsing games to play.

The Great:

The Price:

I only paid a single dollar for this game on one of Nintendo’s many sales on the 3DS. That’s probably the only great thing about this game, but I’m grateful that I found it really cheap.

The Good:

I don’t mind the old graphics that this game has. It doesn’t look terrible, but it’s serviceable. Nothing will wow you, but it gets the job done.

The Bad:

The gameplay would be so good if it played like one of the classic Zelda games. Instead it plays exactly like you would expect a game on your phone to play. All I have to do to kill enemies is walk right into them. I can only kill enemies that are my level or one level higher than me. If I approach a enemy that’s about 2 levels higher than me I won’t do damage to them and will lose a chunk of my health instead.

Rinse and repeat this for hours until you complete the game and you have Fairune.

Do you remember those old RPG games that did those really annoying sounds every time someone talked. Here I’ll give you an example below:

That shit got annoying real quick. Shining Force is fantastic, but even I can admit that the dialogue sounds were terrible in that game. Every piece of dialogue that plays in Fairune sounds just like that. The overall sound quality is very poor and will probably leave you with a huge headache when you’re done.

Where should I begin with the story? This game has weak dialogue, shitty writing, a boring silent protagonist, and no direction whatsoever. It’s complete shit and I’ve played better Pokemon hacks that has a better story…

The Verdict:

Fairune is a terrible game. I knew after just a few hours of playing it, but I kept going because part of me wanted to write something good about it. I only paid a single dollar for it so I’m not really upset that I brought it, but this is a good example of why phone games shouldn’t be on the 3DS. Just because something can be fun phone on mobile devices doesn’t mean it’s going to be the same on a handheld. Avoid this game guys it’s not worth your time or money.

Running into enemies to instantly kill them? Sounds like the Ys series, haha.

Yes, but the YS series is actually interesting while Fairune isn’t :). Ys at least attempts to give us good stories, and characters while Fairune doesn’t even bother.
