Fallout 4/Skyrim Mods Are Not Going To Playstation 4

Spread the Word!

What is Sony up to these days? First they fuck up the PS Pro and now no mods are going to their console at all. What’s going on over there?

I don’t follow consoles like I used to, but every so often I’ll browse the Internet to see if anything interesting is happening. I’ve actually been considering a PS4 for a few months now because there are some pretty good looking games coming out soon for it. Nioh, Horizon, Nier, etc. I also really want Bloodborne and a few other titles that are already out on the console.

Sony has done some questionable things lately. Since Sony is winning the console war right now you would expect them to try and keep that momentum going by letting Bethesda give their console mod support. Modding on a console has never been done before and it’s a big deal with console games. Bethesda opened up a whole new market for something I didn’t think would do very well.

Microsoft must be happy right now because Sony is literally giving them a huge opportunity. To be fair to Sony they didn’t say no, but they want things a certain way and Bethesda won’t go for it. Sony probably want things their way or the highway. Bethesda chose the highway and whether or not it’ll impact PS4 sales remains to be seen.

The Xbox One has beat Sony two months in a row now. The slimmer version of the X1 is one of the reasons why. Not many people wanted to buy a bulky console so Microsoft did the smart thing and shrunk the size and even gave it some new features too.

Only time will tell if Sony can keep momentum on their side. The lackluster showing of the Playstation Pro, and no mod support aren’t looking good for them though.

What do you guys think?

The pendulum swings again it seems with the lead console holder’s ego getting in the way of sensible decisions.

Yep. Sony is doing some pretty stupid things. I don’t think it’s going to affect sales though. People are going to buy their console regardless of what it can or can’t do.

I don’t think Xbox will catch up any time soon but I they seem to be playing the long game now by slowly winning back mind share. Every little win might mean a few more Xbox owners in the future. Maybe Sony hasn’t stumbled as badly as they did with DRM but they are chipping away at it.

Do you think it might change Bethesda’s attitude towards either console? They were already on pretty good terms with Xbox and talking up Fallout 4 VR on Scorpio.

What seems strange though is how few PS4 owners I know are excited for the Pro… The prospect of something that’s “just” a faster PS4 doesn’t interest them at all, even if that’s all Scorpio will be too for Xbox.

If Microsoft ever wants me to buy another Xbox they’ll need some real exclusives that I can’t get on PC.

I much more interested in the PS4 because I can’t get some of the games I’m interested in, but I don’t really want one so I never bothered to buy one.

Bethesda has always had a good relationship with Microsoft going back to the Xbox days. I wouldn’t be surprised if they made a few Xbox exclusives because of their fallout with Sony.

My friend owns a PS4 and he has no interest in the pro. He doesn’t think it’s worth it.

So if an old ps4 game does not get patched to run at 4k, would that game look better on a ps4 pro compared to a ps4 (assume this scenario uses 4k tv for both pro and ps4), or will it be the same?
If its the same then ps4 pro fuckedd up because xbox one s can upscale all games to 4k.

The PS4 won’t have true 4K. It’ll be upscaled to 4K, but that’s not the same as actual 4K. The games will only run at 30fps if you’re lucky.

I have no idea if Sony’s upcoming console can upscale every game at 4K and honestly I really care. I’m not a Playstation or Xbox guy. If I want 4K I’ll stick with PC and if I want exclusives I’ll got to Nintendo.

      Thanks for commenting :].

And I think the PS4 will be just fine moving on. The Xbox One isn’t going to catch up to the PS4 for one big reason. All of it’s games are on PC.
