Spread the Word!

Welcome back to The Game News Bar. Have a seat, grab a beer, and get ready for a rundown of all of the latest game news that I’ve collected for this edition of The Game News Bar!

Cyberpunk 2077’s Multiplayer Will Have Microtransactions:

CD Projekt Red recently announced that Cyberpunk 2077’s standalone multiplayer title will have microtransactions and the game media tried to start a controversy over it. I wonder if they did the same with every Call of Duty game? No. Honestly, this is a non-story. CD Projekt Red announced last year that the multiplayer version of Cyberpunk would have microtransactions. This is nothing new. It remains to be seen what kind of microtransactions will be in the game, but there will be NO microtransactions whatsoever in the single-player portion of the game.

The Xbox Series X and Series S Prices Revealed:

The Xbox Series X is $499 while the Series S is only $299! That’s an awesome pro-consumer choice that Microsoft made and it’s honestly made the Series S a very attractive choice. Microsoft has been making some really good moves lately and this one is probably the best one of them all.

The Division 2 Is Getting A Free Skyscraper Mode For Owners of The New York DLC:

Technically this isn’t a free update like the developers are advertising it as. If you don’t own Warlords of New York you can’t play this new, interesting mode. Skyscraper is like The Division 1’s Underground DLC. Instead of you heading into the sewers of New York you’ll be tasked with climbing a 100-floor skyscraper filled with some sweet, sweet loot. This just might get me to come back to The Division 2. I went back to the first game and had a blast while the second one didn’t see that same type of replayability from me. This is a great move and huge step in the right direction for the PVE of The Division 2.

Hyrule Warriors Calamity Is A New Musou Game And Breath of the Wild Prequel:

Calamity is right up my alley. I have a love/hate relationship with Breath of the Wild. It’s no near as good as Nintendo fans would have you believe, but Hyrule Warriors will give me that Dynasty Warriors fix I’ve been craving since Atlus doesn’t want us to play Persona 5 Scramble. Calamity will release on November 20th of this year. One day after Cyberpunk 2077. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game is pushed back to Christmas.

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-reckoning Releases Tomorrow:

Kingdoms of Amalur is a great RPG. This remaster… not so much, but I’m still planning on buying this game to support it in hopes that we’ll get a sequel someday. Re-reckoning is just plain old Kingdoms of Amalur playing at a higher resolution. As far as remasters go it’s fairly simple, but there is new content coming to the game next year and, hopefully, a level cap increase.

The Witcher 3 Is Getting Remastered For Next-Gen and PC and Will Be Free For Existing Owners:

The Witcher 3 was the biggest piece of news for me personally when I started writing this. Not only is it one of, if not THE, greatest games ever made, but CD Projekt Red is giving it away for FREE to everyone that already purchased the game and it will have updated visuals. I don’t know if it’s going to have gameplay enhancements. I’ll update this when more information is released.

Female Hawkeye Coming To Marvel’s Avengers

I think Square Enix should focus on fixing the numerous amount of bugs in Avengers before releasing new characters, but that’s just one guy’s opinion. Avengers is an incredibly flawed game with a good campaign and half-assed multiplayer. It’s fun but needs a lot of work. This Hawkeye content does look good and it looks like Hawkeye is coming with her own story or campaign. The best part is that it’s free so if you just bought the game you’ll have some more content to playthrough soonish.

And that wraps up this edition of The Game News Bar.
