I’m a day late doing this because I’ve been battling depression lately. I got up today and felt better than I have the last few days and decided to start writing again.
Warframe To Nintendo Switch?
We’ll start this edition of game news Friday (um… Saturday) with a might/might not happen kind of thing. Digital Extremes are looking at the Switch for a possible Warframe port. Warframe is on every modern platform under the sky right now. There is no game like Warframe on the Switch and if it made it’s way there it would have the market to itself on Nintendo and introduce a lot of people to everyone’s favorite space ninjas. I’m all for this. I already have over 800 hours spread out between the Xbox One and PC and I can see myself dropping a few more on a possible Switch version. That’s assuming they let me carry my PC progress over like they did with the X1…
Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition
Here’s a game I never thought I would write about without doing a retro review. Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition released on Steam to favorable reviews. How enhanced is this version? I have no idea. I played the original Neverwinter Nights and really enjoyed it. It’s one of the best RPGs ever made and I might jump into this during a slow spell. The game released on the 27th.
Lego: The Incredibles
Lego: The Incredibles has been announced and will release some time in June of this year. I’m not interested in this game, but I am going to buy it for my kids when it releases. I’m not into the Lego games anymore, but the fact that I can share them with my children makes me happy.
Is Third Party Hardware Safe For The Switch?
Buying third-party hardware can harm your Nintendo Switch in the long run. Some people’s Nintendo Switch consoles won’t charge anymore and are stuck in a boot loop. Nintendo’s latest update has not been tested (and probably never will be) on third-party hardware. For now, you might want to keep your purchases exclusive to Nintendo hardware to avoid these issues.
Mutant Year Zero is Looking Good
The Bearded Ladies (Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden developer) has released a 35-minute gameplay trailer for their upcoming game and I really want this game now. It’s like an open world Xcom game with a slice of Original Sin in it. The video is below.
Doom! In Somewhat 4K!
Doom is finally getting a 4K patch for PS4/Xbox One. I think it’s neat that ID Software is continuing to support Doom with patches. I haven’t touched the game since the year it released, but for those of you that want to play it in 4K there, you go!
How is Sea of Thieves Selling According to Microsoft?
Sea of Thieves is Microsoft’s fastest selling new IP for this generation of consoles. They didn’t count established series like Forza or Halo towards this. 2 million people have played Sea of Thieves. I wonder how many of that 2 million are Xbox Game Pass players and how many actually bought the game. I wonder how many people refunded this shit too after they realized the majority of the game could be experienced in less than an hour…
Far Cry 5 SteamSpy Numbers!
Far Cry 5 has been dominating the news feed lately. Everything from how great the user interface is to how sad people get when they hear their faithful canine get hurt has been written about. I’m here to talk about numbers though. Far Cry 5 is enjoying great success on PC according to Steam Spy. Far Cry 5 is one of the most played games on Steam at the moment. Which is to be expected since it’s a new game and all, but when you consider how many games it’s ahead of and how many other Ubisoft games it’s beaten the number becomes that much more impressive. Far Cry 5 has sold over 340,000 copies on Steam already. That’s not even counting Uplay, PS4, and Xbox one numbers. Far Cry has peaked with a total of 83,046. Compare with other Ubisoft titles like Assassin’s Creed and it easily eclipsed that number. It doubled it actually.
No Man’s Buy (I meant Sky!) is Heading To Xbox One!
No Man’s Sky is going to Xbox One next. The question is does anyone care enough to buy this game again after the disaster of a launch it had? And it will have to compete with Elite Dangerous on the X1. Only time will tell if this is a good move.
Crawler Was Supposed To Be Darksiders 3?
Do any of you remember a game called Crawler? I don’t either. Crawler was supposed to be the third Darksiders game. The main protagonist of this game was supposed to be Strife. The game was supposed to be set in a procedurally generated world and have us roaming around solving puzzles and kicking all sorts of mythical creatures asses. Honestly, this mostly sounded interesting. I’m not a big fan of procedural generation, but I would have probably given this a shot at some point. I’m not a Darksiders fan, but it’s too bad that the original developers couldn’t release a game that worked on.
Take a Look At IGNs Shitty Top 100 of All Time!
The final bit of news is IGN has released their official top 100 games of all time and it’s a complete joke of a list. If we go by this list that means that Spelunky is better than Final Fantasy VII and Skyrim. I know it’s just one person’s opinion (I hope), but it’s still a shitty list. You can check it out here.
