Sure was. Took a little longer then expected, but I love the different variety of games mentioned here 🙂

Thanks to Drakulus for having me on as a guest contributor for his categorical Game of the Year list. Lots of great picks from everyone involved.

Top picks all. Needs more DOOM ;-).
Nice to see Oxenfree getting a nod, I really enjoyed that one and recommend it to all and sundry.

Doom got some love from my friends on this list :). My personal favorite FPS of last year was Titanfall 2.

I played Oxenfree briefly on PC, but it kind of got lost in the flood of games that released later since it was a January release.

Some great choices there – a huge amount of variety too! 🙂

I hope we see more of The Division in the future… It’s a great concept that might have had its share of stumbles but it’s more my kind of thing than some other online co-op games I’ve played.

The Division was a lot of fun for my wife and I to playthrough together. We easily got over 100 play time in it.

I’m pretty sure we’re getting some nice year two DLC so the game is going to continue getting better in my opinion.

I was definitely convinced me to give FFXV a chance when I really had no interest in Squeenix’s latest offering, and the scales were also tipped with my thinking about The Last Guardian. I used to be almost entirely a retro gamer with not as much interest in the newer stuff, but good reviews can be persuasive, and it would be silly to ignore them and miss out on some potentially awesome stuff! I haven’t played any of these games yet, but I’m certainly looking forward to doing so.

I know I’m really late getting to this comment. WordPress marked it as spam and I just started going through my spam folder today. As far as FF15 goes I’m avoiding it like the plague. I’m not a fan of the series and FF15 doesn’t like my kind of open world game, but I know my friend CheapBossAttack would disagree with me on that one :). If you’re into open world games try The Witcher. It’s much better. The Last Guardian looks like a walking simulator to me :).

There’s nothing wrong with being a retro gamer. The best games ever made are retro in my opinion. Thanks for commenting and I apologize for WordPress marking you as spam :).

WP has been doing that to a lot of people lately! Final Fantasy is my favorite series, so we’ll have to politely disagree on that hehe. I’m not a huge fan of open world, so if you have, I can see why you’re not into that series. I’ve heard great things about The Witcher, and I actually have the book it’s based on on my reading list. Are you a Skyrim fan? Whenever I hear the term “open world,” Skyrim is always the first thing I think of. Oh and WoW! I’ve never played either one of them, but I love Skyrim’s music, especially as rendered by Malukah.

I’m an old school gamer for life! The 80s-00s were the Golden Age of gaming in my opinion, though I do like modern accessibility and easy of play I suppose. Like it’s pretty easy to play even older games on emulators or whatnot, but in a way not having the internet made us “better” gamers in a way? We HAD to try and try again in order to get past difficult boards. This is probably why I love puzzles and problem solving to this day lol.

Haha CheapBossAttack is an awesome dude, though he has made my gaming backlog expand exponentially! Damn him :p

I actually built my entire blog around Skyrim. I’ve written a ton about it and I have a mod series dedicated to it too. I love Skyrim to death.

I’m a bit picky when it comes to open world games though. Ubisoft has yet to create a open world that I want to get lost in like I can with Bethesda’s games. If you’re into open world games I highly recommend Skyrim, Witcher, and even Dragon Age.

Being a fan of open world games has nothing to do with my dislike for Final Fantasy if I’m to be honest here. I just don’t think they’re very good games.I think they’re poorly written and cater to Anime fans. If you love that sort of thing that’s awesome though. It’s just not for me 🙂
