The winter sales this year wasn’t bad. It could be better, but I managed to find some pretty good games for great prices over the last few days.
I recently sold my Xbox One. I’ve been trying to get rid of it all month long and I finally managed to get a good deal on Craigslist for it. Getting rid of my Xbox means I can’t play games like Dragon Age, Middle Earth, and Metro anymore so I decided to try and buy them again on PC. So far I have two of the three titles that I mentioned.
Here are the games that I brought
Games I got from G2A
Metro Last Light Redux – $4
Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition – $7.37
Games I got from Steam
Mark of The Ninja – $3.74
Bastion – 3.74
Dust – $2.99
Endless Legend – $10.19
Bioshock – $3.99
Half Life 2 – $2.49
That’s a pretty impressive list of games in my opinion. The most expensive title was Endless Legend, but the best valued game was Middle Earth since it came with all the DLC. Mark of The Ninja is a fantastic game. I’m really enjoying it right now.
Endless Legend is another really great game that I’ve put a couple hours into. I definitely plan on reviewing it when I have more time invested into it.
I’m not a Half Life fan, but I decided to give the series another shot so I purchased it again. I’ll get around to playing it eventually.
I’m thinking about buying Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY edition since it’s on sale for $30, but I’ll have to think about it first since I’ve already brought so many games this month already.
What games did you buy from the holiday sale?

Jan 01, 2016 3:38 pmWith all of the DLC being out now for DA:I (I think?), the price should only go down I think. The only PC games I bought from the Winter sales were Cibele, Her Story, Undertale, and Downwell. My GF got Knights of Pen & Paper 2 on our account, and I think that’s it.

Jan 01, 2016 3:52 pmI caved and brought Dragon Age Inquisition. It was my GOTY in 2014 and since I’ve never played the Deep Roads, or Trespasser expansions I thought it was worth the $30.
It runs flawlessly on my rig too :].

Jan 01, 2016 4:41 pmI really want to play the DLC campaigns for DAI, but even after 140 hours I forgot most of the story. I was considering going through it again if I can find the GOTY edition cheaply on PS4 or XB1.

Jan 01, 2016 6:05 pmFinding anything cheap on PS4 or X1 is hard. It’s part of the reason why I got rid of mine. I had about 400 hours in DAI on X1. I plan on putting just as many in the PC version.

Jan 01, 2016 10:15 pmThere was a flash sale on the GOTY edition on PS4 for $20, but it was gone pretty fast. Only reason I balked is because I already own the vanilla version on Xbox. Should have pulled the trigger.

Jan 02, 2016 8:28 amWhen I really love a game I don’t mind owning it twice. I brought Inquisition twice, and the Mass Effect Trilogy three times.

Jan 02, 2016 8:39 pmIf I’ve invested a ton of time in to a game, and earn most of the achievements or trophies, I tend to pick it up on the opposing console to get them all over again… for whatever arbitrary reason.

Jan 02, 2016 9:25 pmIt’s not really about the achievements with me to be honest. The Xbox version of Mass Effect was the definitive version for a while because it started off as an Xbox exclusive. Mass Effect 2 didn’t go to PS3 for years, but I ended up getting it so I could check out the dark horse comic.
All of them are available now on Playstation, but it wasn’t always like that.
When I got into PC gaming the first game that I brought was the Mass Effect Trilogy followed by Skyrim. Since Mass Effect is my favorite game I don’t have problem supporting Bioware by buying multiple times.
Earning achievements and showing them off to my friends is a cool bonus though :].
