Hit Or Miss Nintendo Switch PC Playstation 4 Xbox One

Hit or Miss – February

Spread the Word!

It’s another month and you know what that means by now. It’s time for another edition of my Hit or Miss series.

Life Is Strange 2: Complete Season (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

I could never get into this series. I’ve kind of gotten out of this genre of game. Life Is Strange is… mediocre and I have absolutely no interest in owning it.

Verdict – Miss!

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics

If I’m not mistaken, this game is based on a Netflix show. It looks decent, but I don’t want it. I don’t know why I’m not interested in this game since I’m usually all over games in this genre, but I have no interest in playing this game.

Verdict – Miss!

Zombie Army 4: Dead War

I used to be into the Zombie Army games. Then they refused to grow and every game felt like the game that released before it. Zombie Army 4 looks like a decent zombie killing game, but I want more from my games. I don’t have the patience I used to have with gaming anymore and I would prefer to play something else over another generic Zombie Army game.

Verdict – Miss!

Yakuza 5

And here’s another series I could never get into. I tried with Yakuza Kiwami and I hated it. I didn’t like anything about it. So I deleted it from my PS4, canceled my PS Plus subscription and forgot this series ever existed until it released on PC a few months later. Yakuza 5 is just more of the same shit that I hated in the game I have no interest in this game at all which has been the theme for this entire article today.

Verdict – Miss!

Luna The Shadow Dust

Luna The Shadow Dust is a point and click adventure game that released on Steam. I have to be in a certain mood to play point and click games. I typically enjoy them though and I find a good majority of them to be very relaxing. So… I’ll probably end up buying this game at some point. Right now though… I have no interest in playing it.

Verdict – Miss!

Street Fighter V Champion Edition

I love Street Fighter V. I’ve played a bunch of hours and I’m still upset that I had to buy Guile. Champion Edition includes every fighter and over 200 costumes. The best part is that it’s only $29.99 on Steam. I’ll only have to pay $24.99 because I already own the base game and Arcade Edition. Having more Street Fighter V in my life is never a bad thing and I’ll most likely own this upgrade really soon.

Verdict – Hit!

Darksiders Genesis

Console games are finally getting their hands on Darksiders Genesis. I’m not a Darksiders fan at all. So I skipped this game. Especially since Darksiders 3 was so bad. My wife and I have been wanting to play something new lately though. Something with local co-op on our new Xbox One X. So I might go ahead and buy this. Or I could just buy her a copy of Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem instead.

Verdict – Undecided

Corruption 2029

This game looks really good and it’s right up my alley. It’s like Xcom, but with full character control. Corruption is a triple-A Indie game and if you liked Xcom, or Mutant Year Zero, then you’ll probably love this. This game can’t get in my library fast enough.

Verdict – Hit!

Hunt: Showdown

I wasn’t a big fan of the changes this game went through. It went from being Hunt: The Gilded Age to a form of battle royal with PVE elements. Hunt is a unique game. By unique I mean there’s not really a lot of games out there to compare it to. Some people will love it while others, like myself, will wait and see if it gets some form of PVE content.

Verdict – Miss!

Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl Gold

Instead of Level 5 giving us another Fantasy Life we got Snack World. I have no idea if I’m going to like it or not because I haven’t played my copy yet, but I am interested in trying it out with my wife later. Since I bought this game that obviously means it’s a hit.

Verdict – Hit!

Rune Factory 4 Special

I never got around to trying out any of the older Rune Factory games. I’m super interested in this one and I can’t wait to try it. It looks like Harvest Moon, or Stardew Valley, mixed with a dungeon crawler and I want it.

Verdict – Hit!

Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story

I love the Way of the Samurai games. I played them back on the PS2 and even tried the newer ones on PC. This game takes that series in a new direction by making it a dungeon crawler with an isometric view. It’s filled with loot, boss battles, and even has procedurally generated stages. I need it and since it’s only $26.99 on the Eshop I might just grab it after I’m done typing this.

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem

Wolcen is finally out of early access. And I freaking love it! It does have some issues though. I don’t think the developers anticipated their game selling so well because the launch of this game was pretty rough. No one could play online. That didn’t bother me since I typically hate playing with random people online anyway. So I made an offline character. Once the servers were fixed I made an online character and I take turns playing with them. Both of my characters are over level 30 and I’m in love with this game right now. If you’ve been on the fence about whether or not you want to buy this game I would recommend it. It’s not as bad as the trolls on Steam are making it sound.

Verdict – Hit!
