3DS Hit Or Miss Nintendo Switch PC Playstation 4 Xbox One 5

Hit or Miss – January 2019

Spread the Word!

My first post of the new year is here! Here’s my monthly Hit or Miss series!

Kingdom Hearts III (PS4, Xbox One)

A lot of people are excited for this game. I’m not one of them. I haven’t played Kingdom Hearts in years and I have no intention of playing this one. That and I can’t get excited to see characters like Goofy, Donald Duck, and Mickey Mouse… I know my brother is buying the game because he’s a huge Kingdom Heart fan so I might play it for review purposes, but I am NOT buying this shit. I do love the OSTs to these games though.

Verdict – Miss!

Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story (3DS)

And support for the 3DS continues with a game I have absolutely no interest in playing. I mean… this game does look interesting, but I’m trying my best not to buy more games on my 3DS right now. I know I’m not going to buy this game, but I wish shit like this was dropping on the Switch. Give me a reason to play my Switch Nintendo!

Verdict – Miss!

New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe (Switch)

And the milking of this game continues on the third straight console generation from Nintendo. I would have rushed out to buy Super Mario 3D World Deluxe or a sequel to that instead of this game again. I had it on both previous consoles and I have no plans to own it a third time.

Verdict – Miss!

Onimusha: Warlords (PC, PS4, X1, Switch)

Capcom put the least amount of effort they possibly could into this remaster. This game doesn’t look very good. I played the original games and I have no interest in replaying this one. Give it the Resident Evil 2 treatment and then I’ll be interested. This is a big miss for me.

Verdict – Miss!

Resident Evil 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

And here’s the game I’m most excited to play this month. It’s actually one of my most anticipated games of 2019. Resident Evil 2 looks so damn good and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I love that it got the full remake treatment. I just wish Capcom would have done the same with the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero… I can’t complain though. At least we’re getting this and so far it looks excellent!

Verdict – Hit!

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown (PS4/Xbox One)

I’ve never been a big Ace Combat guy. They’ve always bored me, but, and maybe this is just me getting older, this game doesn’t look that bad. When I was younger I didn’t have the patience to play something like this. Now, I look at this game and I actually like what I see. It’s weird, but I do know I’m not spending $60 on it so…

Verdict – Wait For Sale!

Tales of Vespiria Definitive Edition (PS4, PC, Xbox One, Switch)

I remember liking this game when it first released on the 360 (was it the 360?), but I don’t like it enough to pay $50 for it. I have no room in my gaming catalog for a game this expensive right now. If I’m buying anything this month at full price, or close to it since I’m getting it on PC, it’s going to be Resident Evil 2. There’s not a lot to look forward to this month and this wraps up my short list of games for my monthly hit or miss series. I know I didn’t write one of these last month and that’s because there weren’t many games that released last month and I honestly wasn’t interested in any of them.

What games are you looking forward to playing this month?

The RE2 remaster is on my radar, and I’m somewhat interested in KH3, but the jury’s still out as to whether or not I bother with it.

I know I’m not buying KH3, but my brother is so when I’m done with RE2 and he’s done with KH3 we’ll just swap games :). I have low expectations for it tbh though.

So freaking excited for the Resident Evil 2 remake! Day 1 purchase for me. That says a lot since I usually wait for new games to get cheaper these days, haha.

I usually wait too. I was going to get RE2 on PC because that’s where I have the entire series, but my PC broke and now I can’t even buy the game because I have to save money to fix it :(.
