Hit or Miss – November Part 2

Spread the Word!

Here’s part 2 of hit or miss for the month of November.

Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy XV is taking Final Fantasy in a new direction by giving it action combat instead of the traditional turn based combat that’s been in the series from the beginning. I’m not impressed with Final Fantasy XV at all. The graphics are fantastic, but the gameplay looks like Kingdom Hearts to me and that’s about as uninteresting as a game can get to me. It’ll cater to those Kingdom Hearts/Final Fantasy crowd, but to someone like me it won’t. This is a miss for me.

Killing Floor 2

Killing Floor 2 has been in early access this entire year. It officially released yesterday the PS4, and PC. I tried Killing Floor 2 out when it was free for a weekend and didn’t like it. I thought the gameplay was really neat, but since I couldn’t do private matches with my friends I quickly lost interest in the game because I’m not a fan of teaming with randoms in a game like this. I might consider this when it’s cheaper.

Verdict – Wait For Sale

Watch Dogs 2

Watch Dogs 1 was a terrible game. It had a bad story, main protagonist, and got a huge graphical downgrade. Watch Dogs 2 looks more refined than 1, but it’s still the same shit to me and I’m not interested in buying another game in this series.

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition

Darksiders is another remaster… I’ll pass.

Verdict – Miss

This wraps up part 2 to my hit or miss series for November. The only game that I was really looking forward to this month was Pokemon. Everything else I’ll end up getting for $10 on a deep sale or not at all.

I’m definitely grabbing Watch Dogs 2 for Christmas. I had a decent time in the original game just fucking around in the open world, but man, the writing was just so bad. Jordi is an underrated character, and he and T-bone were the only saving grace. I’m hoping for an Assassin’s Creed-to-Assassin’s Creed 2 jump in quality, since Ubisoft typically does a lot better with the 2nd game in a series. Seems to be getting good reviews and my social media feeds are full of people having a blast and posting videos of the hilarious shit they’re getting in to. Here’s hoping it’s a significant improvement.

You and I feel completely different when it comes to Watch Dogs. I got Watch Dogs for 75 cents and I couldn’t even put 5 hours of gameplay in the game before I quit. The story was shit, the main protagonist was boring, and the gameplay was average. It was hard for me to do basic things like aim my gun with my mouse when I never have that problem in any other game. I couldn’t even review the game because I never bothered to finish it. I have no interest in Watch Dogs 2. Everything I’ve seen on it hasn’t impressed me and it hasn’t impressed anyone I know either. The reviews I’ve watched, so far, have been mixed. Some say buy it and others say wait for a sale.

I hope you enjoy it :). I’ll keep an eye out for a future review from you on Watch Dogs 2.

It was a good example of a 5/10 game, IMO. Lots wrong, but decent enough to dick around in. Very average. Some of the side missions were fun, like riding the giant mecha spider through Chicago during the digital trips, or just causing traffic jams. There was absolutely no reason for it to exist though, when it does nothing nearly as well as GTAV.

I agree with you on this. The first Watch Dogs should be the second one. I just don’t trust the series and I can’t see myself getting Watch Dogs 2 for more than $10. And I need to see how well the PC version of Watch Dogs 2 performs when it finally releases at the end of this month.

Whenever a PC game releases after a console game it’s usually filled with bugs. I’m not saying that’s going to be true with Watch Dogs 2, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out that way.
