Hit Or Miss Nintendo Switch PC Playstation 4 Upcoming Games 14

Hit or Miss – September Part 1

Spread the Word!

Here’s another edition of my monthly hit or miss series!

Destiny 2 – Forsaken (PS4,Xbox One, PC)

Destiny 2 is still rolling along and I have absolutely no interest in trying this sequel out on any platform. If Destiny is your thing that’s fine. It’s not mine so it’s a big miss for me.

Verdict – Miss!

Dragon Quest 11 (PC,PS4)

I’m very tempted to preorder this game, but I’m not going to right now. I’m buying it for sure next month, but it’ll be towards the middle of the month. That’ll give me time to complete Ni No Kuni 2, Octopath Traveler, and Spider-man.

Verdict – Hit!

Gone Home (Switch)

Another re-release is releasing on the Switch. I have no interest in this one though and the next game that’s making it’s way to my Switch will be Pokemon in November.

Verdict – Miss!

Immortal: Unchained (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

This game is a mess. It looks like Dark Souls with guns, but a really cheap one. The animations are below average, the surroundings (at least the ones that I saw in this video) are dull, the main protagonist doesn’t look very interesting, and there’s no impact to any of the melee weapons. This is just an alpha version so I’m hoping the finished product is much better, but from what I saw I’m staying far away from this game. It reminds of Too Human. Do you remember that game?

Verdict – Miss!

Yo-kai Watch Blasters: Red Cat Corp and White Dog Squad (3DS)

That’s a mouthful for a game title isn’t it? This game looks like an action version of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and I have mixed feelings on it. One one hand I really like Yo-kai Watch and more games are always awesome, but on the other I’m trying my best not to buy more games on my 3DS. I haven’t decided if I want this game or not.

Verdict – Undecided!

Spider-man (PS4)

On this day I will be the proud owner of my very first Playstation 4 Pro and it comes with the new Spider-man game! I can’t wait to play this on my shiny new console and eventually review it.

Verdict – Hit!

Insurgency: Sandstorm (PC)

If you like realistic FPS games you’ll love Insurgency. This PC exclusive (soon to be on consoles too) is a nice game that relies on teamwork over one person being Rambo and killing everyone. I enjoyed the first game and I’ll probably get this one during the Steam Winter Sale like I did its predecessor.

Verdict – Wait For Sale!

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country (Switch)

I really enjoyed Xenoblade 2, but (just like with Breath Of the Wild) the DLC so far has sucked ass. I’m going to wait and see before I throw my cash at this game again. I love all of the updates that have improved Xenoblade 2 since launch and I’m glad it’s still being supported almost a year later.

Verdict – Undecided!

That wraps up this edition of Hit or Miss! Part 2 should be coming along shortly. I’m not looking forward to a lot this month outside of Dragon Quest and Spider-man. Last month was packed full of games I wanted so it’s a nice change of pace to only have 2 or three that I’m interested in. I can wait for every game on this list (except Dragon Quest 11) though. I don’t “need” any of them and I don’t mind waiting for them to go on sale. What are you looking forward to?

I’d love to delve into Dragon Quest XI, but I can’t take another meaty JRPG until I finish Octopath, and I really should get back into playing FFVI for my project. I might pick up Gone Home on the Switch. I *think* I have it on some other system somewhere that I rarely play and it’s something I’ve had on my backlog for a while. If it’s not ridiculously expensive, I’ll grab it for the Switch just for the convenience.

Can’t wait to hear what you think of Dragon Quest XI!

I can’t wait to play Dragon Quest 11. Part of me is tempted to buy it on PC because I REALLY want to play it, but I’m trying my best to be patient and wait until I have my PS4 so I can play it on there. I hope Gone Home is cheap on the Switch. It looks like it should be $20 tops.

And good luck with Final Fantasy VI. I haven’t played that one in years. I miss it :).

I’m not seeing it in the Switch store yet so I’m wondering if it’s not out for that system yet or just not in store, which is weird. It’s not even in the Upcoming Games section.

I’ll get back to VI eventually hehe. I’m just so wrapped up in Octopath. I think I have two more Chapter 2’s to complete then I get to level grind for Chapter 3.

Dragon Quest 11 doesn’t release for the Switch for another year :(.

I completed Tressa and Olberic’s chapter 3. You have to be at least level 40 to not struggle with Tressa’s. Olberic’s chapter 3 was easy though because my party is overleveled right now.

Damn…I might ask for it for Christmas for the PS4 then.

I’m on Level 40 with Olberic right now so I’m going to do his Chapter 3 next (just finished Therion’s). I’m a bit over-leveled with half my characters, and I’m trying to get the rest up to speed.

I’m thinking of doing the same :). I don’t see myself waiting a year for Dragon Quest to drop on the Switch. Especially since I have no idea what other games would be releasing around it.

It’s pretty easy to over-level your party if you only focus on your four characters. I did that too and realized that my main four was like 20 levels higher than everyone else so I started training the other ones.

I just saw a whole bunch of games dropped for the Nintendo Switch lol. Well according to Twitter :p I did get an email from the Big N about how I need to make sure I like the name I have because they’re going to permanently tie them together.

Olberic and Therion are my highest level characters easily because I take the thief to all the new places because of those chests. I kind of wish you could teach another character that skill. I love the game, but I will have a few things to critique about it. I try to not let my other characters fall too far behind and now that I have all of the secondary jobs, it’s a lot easier!

I’m not really interested in anything coming to the Switch except Pokemon and Fire Emblem. I know Super Smash will be fun, but there are other games I want more than that one. I don’t agree with a lot about Nintendo’s poorly done online services.

I’m with you on Therion. I wish we could teach someone else how to unlock chest. That ability should have been tied to the thief class and not to a character.

Yeah I’ve seen lots of complaints about that, but I haven’t looked into it myself. I knew they were going to start charging by the end of this year. I’m glad it’s only $20, but I’d like to get SOMETHING for that.

I love Octopath, but I have some issues and critiques about it. I think these are things they could be fixed if they know/car about it. Like I really wish they had fast travel in town. It can be a bit time consuming running around between certain locations.

Cool article format! Can confirm: Dragon Quest XI on PS4 is gorgeous and a ton of fun. Excited to try out Spider-Man, too!

      Thanks!

I’ve been playing Spider-man for a few hours and I like it. My brother bought me Horizon Zero Dawn and I’m excited to jump in that too. I really want Dragon Quest, but I can’t get it right now :(.

I haven’t played either of the Destiny games, as I am not a big fan of shooters. Just as well given the shady stuff they have done to extend the grind and coerce people into spending cash.

I don’t think there’s anything shady about adding new content for your fans to enjoy. I love grinding games and shooters. I’m just not into Destiny. I have almost 300 hours in The Division and a little under 1,000 in Warframe.

What I found shady is that they reduced experience gain if you played a certain amount of time. When players noticed they deactivated the penalty.
