Hit or Miss – September Part 2

Spread the Word!

I know I’m a little late with this, but here’s part 2 to my monthly Hit or Miss series!

Two Point Hospital (PC)

This game looks really neat. It’s a simulation hospital management game. I think I can have a lot of fun with this game. I wonder what’ll happen when I fuck something up like I usually do in games like this?

Verdict – Hit!

NBA 2K19 (PC/PS4/Xbox One/Switch)

2K18 was a disaster. Here’s to hoping 2K will right the ship and fix the mistakes they made with the previous game. The trailers to this game look solid, but will this be as heavy with the microtractions as its predecessor? That’s what I want to know before I throw my money at the screen. This game is also releasing at a bad time for me. I don’t think I’ll be investing in another sports game so soon after Madden and so soon after I get my new PS4 with Spider-man.

Verdict – Undecided!

NBA Live 19 (PS4/Xbox One)

I’ve never been a fan of the NBA Live games, but I’ve been considering this one over 2K because I’m still salty about what they did in 2K18. The Live games don’t look bad, but I prefer the career mode in 2K and mechanics of those games. That being said I am considering this and will probably grab it when it drops in price.

Verdict – Undecided!

Nintendo Labo: Vehicle Kit (Switch)

This looks neat for kids… but not for me. Nintendo Labo is an expensive cardboard box that I have zero interest in.

Verdict – Miss!

Pathfinder:Kingmaker (PC)

This game looks amazing! It takes me back to the good ole Dungeon and Dragons days. I also couldn’t help, but poke fun at Fable 3 after watching the trailer because it does what Fable 3 was supposed to do, but better. This game is releasing this month and it’s a day one buy for me. I want to get lost in this world, build my own kingdom, and be a tyrannical king! Or I might be peaceful… that’s boring though :).

Verdict – Hit!

Insomnia: The Ark (PC)

PC is gooding some good looking games this month! This game is right up alley. It’s an action RPG that looks really interesting. This game has some interesting classes like the Thingmaster! Yes, I said thingmaster. That’s an actual class in the game. This isn’t a triple A game by any means, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it.

Verdict – Hit!

And that wraps up part 2 to my monthly Hit or Miss series! What games are you looking forward to playing this month?

It’s really cool to see Pathfinder finally having a game. It’s on my to get list, but there’s a lot of cool stuff coming in the next 8 or so weeks, so I’ll probably be waiting on that for a long time.

I’m getting more interested in sims games lately. I think this started with the Jurassic World one (even though I haven’t played it). That hospital sim looks interested enough for an add. Labo looks really cool, but I can see where you’re coming from with paying that much for cardboard. I think I saw one at Target for $70. I might ask for it for Christmas :p

The first game looks inspired by Theme Hospital. I don’t think the makers of NBA 2K19 have learned anything. Last I heard they were asking Belgian players to petition government to make loot boxes legal in their nation.
