Hit Or Miss Nintendo Switch PC Playstation 4 Xbox One 2

Hit or Miss – September

Spread the Word!

It’s a new month and my Hit or Miss series is officially back!

Catherine: Full Body (PS4, Xbox One)

The controversial Catherine: Full Body has already released. I was never interested in the original game and I’m not interested in this one. I just don’t like these kinds of games. And by “these kinds” I mean puzzle platformers. I’m all for sexy stuff.

Verdict – Miss!

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered – (PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC)

Here’s another game I’m not really interested in. Final Fantasy VIII is one of the few Final Fantasy games I’ve never played and it looks like I’ll go a bit longer before experiencing it. Why? Because I have too many other games I’m juggling right now to care about it.

Verdict – Miss!

Warsaw – (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Warsaw… looks absolutely terrible. It’s definitely not for me.

Verdict – Miss!

River City Girls – (PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One)

People have been raving about how good River City Girls is and I’ll admit that it does look pretty good, but I think it’s overpriced for what it is. I’ll be waiting on this one.

Verdict – Wait For Sale!

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne – (PS4, Xbox One)

I have Monster Hunter World on PS4, but I would rather wait until this expansion releases on PC so I can use my best character and have the best performance possible. So this is a big miss from me.

Verdict – Miss!

NBA 2K20 – (Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One)

The WNBA is finally in a game… and we could care less. I guess the 5 people that bother tuning in to the WNBA will care. That and SJWs, but real basketball fans wanted more features and less microtransactions and we got less features and more microtransactions…

Verdict – Miss!

Gears of War 5 – (Xbox One, PC)

Gears of War 5 was fun. I enjoyed my time with the game, but it has a lot of issues and didn’t do enough new to go with all of the old. If you want my in depth thoughts on the game click here for my review. The short version is I’m glad I didn’t buy this game and I only paid $2 for PC Game Pass because it’s not worth it.

Verdict – Miss!

Greedfall – (PC, Xbox One, PS4)

Greedfall is like one of those old Bioware RPGs of yesteryear. You know? Before EA bought them. It’s really good, but it’s also pretty rough around the edges. It’s a B grade RPG made by Spiders (The Technomancer, Bound by Flame) and I’m really enjoying it.

Verdict – Hit!

Borderlands 3 – (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

I have very mixed feeling on Borderlands 3. On one hand, it’s a new Borderlands game. The other hand, it’s been held captive by Epic Games until next year on PC which just so happens to be the platform I want it on. I’m considering the PS4 version, but that would mean playing a FPS game with a controller and that’s a nightmare for me.

Verdict – Undecided!

Daemon x Machina – (Switch)

I was sold on this game when I saw I could pilot a big ass mech and pretend like it’s Gundam. Seriously… I love big mechs and this game has improved a lot since I last played it a few months ago. It’s totally worth a buy and if I don’t get Borderlands 3 tomorrow it’s because of this game.

Verdict – Hit!

Cat Quest 2 – (PC, Switch, PS4, Xbox One)

The first game was so adorable I couldn’t help, but fall in love with it. The second game not only kept the same aethestic it also has co op! What’s not to love about this?

Verdict – Hit!

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered – (Switch, PS4, PC)

I’ve never played the first game in this series, but I absolutely loved the second one. I know most people prefer the first one and I honestly can’t wait to see what this game is all about once it goes on sale.

Verdict – Wait For Sale!

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (Switch)

The remake to Link’s Awakening is almost here and it’s incredibly overpriced. I can’t see myself paying $60 for a game like this. Especially since I know it’ll be one of those one and done for me.

Verdict – Wait For Sale!

Contra Rogue Corps

I grew up playing Contra. They’re really fun games and I love them. That being said I’m not paying $40 for this game. It looks like shit to me and I’ll need some serious convincing to change my mind.

Verdict – Miss!

The Surge 2 – (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

The Surge 2 is looking really good, but the first one was super buggy on PC. I crashed over 50 times in 30 hours and I’m going to wait on this one for awhile before deciding whether or not it’s worth a buy.

Verdict – Wait For Sale!

Dragon Quest 11 – (Switch)

The Switch version of Dragon Quest 11 is looking like the definitive version of the game. This version comes with a retro graphics mode and other goodies that are not in any of the other games. I’m not sure if it’s worth buying for full price again, but I know i’ll add it to my collection eventually.

Verdict  – Undecided!

Code Vein – (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Anime Souls is almost here! I’m very excited for this game. I want it and I’m going to buy it.

Verdict – Hit!

And that wraps up this month’s edition of Hit or Miss! You can find the Hit or Miss I did on Nintendo’s last direct here. I’ll see you next month.

Glad to see Hit or Miss back! I’m picking up FFVIII, but I’m sure you expected that lol. I already have VII on my Switch and it’s just so much easier for me to play things on there than anywhere else. I’m on the fence about the remastered Zelda. I’ve never really played Zelda myself; I usually watch an LP, but I kind of want to play this. Eh, I’ll see. Maybe I’ll wait for a sale or see if someone will give it to me lol. People seem to like giving me random games. I just got three from a coworker. I really want to play Ni No Kuni, but I have too many other RPGs waiting to drop $60 right now, though the fact it’s a collab with Studio Ghibli is a HUGE selling point. I love Miyazaki.

The only FF game I own on my Switch is X/X2 and I don’t even like them. I want 7 and 9, but I have no time for them at the moment so I won’t buy them until I’m in the mood for them. I did buy the OG Dragon Quest and that game is all kinds of awesome. I no longer care about Link’s Awakening. The game should have been $40 since it’s not a Breath of the Wild type game, but hey it’s Nintendo. I’m used to them overpricing everything. Ni No Kuni (part 2 anyway) is amazing. I never played the first one, but I know I will soonish. I’ll probably grab it on PC since it’s cheaper.

I’ve been completely swamped in review codes lately. Alliance Alive, Tick Tock Travelers, Disgaea 4, and Trails of Cold Steel 3. So I can’t buy anything until I finish those :).
