Homefront: The Revolution First Impression

Spread the Word!

I don’t understand why everyone hates this game so much. I’m two hours in and it’s pretty good so far.

After a pretty lengthy cutscene of America being taken over by Korea I was put in the shoes of our main protagonist. I think the majority of the people that played this game or blind or just flat out lied about the graphics in this game.

Homefront The Revolution is a beautiful game. I’m not running it on ultra, because of the fps issues, but I am on high settings and this game looks really, really good in my opinion. The gameplay feels like a mix of Far Cry, and Crysis. It’s mostly Far Cry, but being able to customize your guns on the go is something that I enjoyed doing in all of the Crysis games.

Running, sliding, and the gunplay are pretty good so far. I haven’t gotten to far in the game yet so I can’t say how good or bad anything is yet, but so far it feels like a Far Cry game and that’s not really a bad thing if you enjoy those kinds of games.

The gameplay is really solid and I thought it was really cool riding on my first motorcycle even though I crashed it a few minutes later into some unlucky guy’s face.

The voice acting is solid and I can’t comment on the story at this point because I’ve only done a single mission. After playing this for two hours I can definitely say that it’s not nearly as bad as most reviewers made it sound. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but remember IGN gave Just Cause 3 a 5. something too.

I’m really glad I didn’t let all the negativity surrounding this game get to me because I probably wouldn’t have brought it if I did. I’m really enjoying this game and I can’t wait to jump back in.
