PC The Division 10

I Quit The Division

Spread the Word!

I knew this day would happen eventually. I’ve had a good run in The Division, but all good things must eventually end.

I’ve been playing The Division since the day it released. I’ve been through its highs and lows. If any of you were around during patch 1.3 you know what I’m talking about here. The Division is like Diablo with guns. It’s fantastic and I’ve gotten 275 great hours out of it and, more importantly, some sweet, sweet loot. The latest patch made The Division the game it was always supposed to be. We have gear sets, exotic weapons, a great endgame, and a sequel on the way! That last part is the reason why I’m leaving The Division. I feel like The Division has peaked and there’s honestly nothing left for me to do. I’m not a PVP player so I don’t bother going into the Dark Zone that much and I’ve gotten every mask that I wanted and gear set in the game. So what is left for me to do? I can still run daily missions, help my friends out, and play with my wife, but she already quit playing and moved on to other things. By other things I mean she went back to Warframe.

Quitting The Division doesn’t mean I think it’s a bad game. I know every time I write one of these it’s usually because I don’t like something. The last time I wrote one of these was two years ago and it was in Black Desert. I’m not leaving The Division on bad terms like I did with BDO. I really love this game, but I’ve noticed that I don’t even bother to log in anymore. Shortly before I started writing this I deleted The Division from my PC. I’ve always had it on my PC because I’ve never spent too much time away from it. I know my hours pale in comparison to some of you out there, but the fact that I thought this game was good enough to give it almost 300 hours of my life means something to me. The only thing left for me to do in this game is wait for global events to happen, but what’s the point when I’ve already gotten all of the rewards I could possibly get from them with the exception of a few ugly masks? That’s not me hating on The Division. I’m just being honest. It’s time for me to move on and wait for The Division 2. That’s really the only game I can see myself jumping into after this one unless Anthem decides to release first.

Goodbye agent :(… I’ll miss you!

I’m not done writing about The Division though. Far from it. Since I’m done playing it I plan on writing a detailed beginners guide to level 30 and a guide for all of the end game stuff. I know plenty of people that are curious about this game and I want to use my knowledge to help bring some new players to it. I might also do some build guides, but I haven’t decided on that one yet. I honestly don’t know if this is goodbye forever for this game. I do not that it’s goodbye for now and I that I really enjoyed the 270+ hours I put into it. If my wife decides that she wants to start playing again then I’ll most likely join her. If you’re trying to decide whether now is a good time to start playing this game I say absolutely! You’re getting the complete experience and won’t have to live through the nightmare that us long time players have. This is the perfect time to play The Division and I recommend that you do if you’re into third person shooters.

Have you ever played The Division? Are you still playing it or did you quit too? What was your reason for leaving if you did?

Never played the game but I heard early on there was a bunch of problems with it. Plus I was into deep with Destiny at the time. Are you gonna get the Division 2?

The Division 2 is a day one buy for me. I love the first game and I’m super excited for the second. Destiny… never clicked with me lol.

I haven’t played it in so long and I have wanted to do some of the things that have come with the updates but kept not getting round to going back. I didn’t enjoy the dark zone so wasn’t fussed with going back to that, but challenges and the sort of co-op stuff I did want to play.

There’s a lot of PVE content now. The last update added two new zones for us to explore and a horde mode of sorts that you can farm for end game gear. The underground is still my favorite mode to play, but there’s no shortage of PVE content now. Well… as long as you like grinding anyway :).

I played The Division ages ago and I couldn’t get into it. I could see the game’s potential though and I hope Ubisoft knock it out of the park with the second one.

They knocked it out the park with the first one in my opinion dude. I love The Division. The lore, gameplay, and end game is great. My only wish for the sequel is I hope they allow us veteran players to use our same characters and add to New York instead of making a whole new area. Don’t go the Destiny 2 route is what I’m saying here lol.

Maybe I could get into it now. I know the updates Ubi have done have made some big changes. I might give it another go but my “big” third person shooter is Warframe. I don’t know if I can take on another big time consuming shooter. I’ll have a think about it.

I hope for every Division fan out there that it doesn’t go the Destiny 2 route. Ubi have been on a roll recently and I think that they will carry on that way.

If you’re deep into Warframe (I have about 800 hours in it) then you probably don’t need to play The Division. Both games require heavy grinding to get what you want and managing the two would be incredibly hard. I quit Warframe for The Division and I might end up going back to Warframe so i can play with my wife.

The Division has gotten a lot better since launch though. The devs have worked really hard on it and I hope Ubisoft paid attention to Destiny 2’s rough launch and took that as a “what not to do with our sequel” lol.

Over the last two years The Division is probably the game I’ve put the most time into. I suffered through the bad times and the game is very different from how it began but in a good way. I’ve been playing less and less of late, however. Like yourself I pretty much have all the gear I want and rarely change or tweak my load out. Can’t wait to see what they show of the sequel at E3.

I’m not sure where The Division would rank as far as my most played games over the last two years go, but I know it’s in my top 3 for sure. Possibly 2.

I guess we’re in the same boat :). Lets hope they don’t Destiny 2 us at E3 with The Division 2.
