It’s been quite some time since I last posted anything. This month hasn’t been great for me. I’ve been sick since the year started and I’m still trying to get healthy again, but the good news is I can finally start writing again. I missed it and I’ve spent most of the time away learning how to run this blog.
I was a little overwhelmed when I made the move from WordPress to A2. The number of things I had to do to get myself up and running again was a lot. I went through hundreds of plugins, security protocols, and various other things that I’ve never done before. It was a lot to take in, but I took my time and told myself that as long as I don’t break drakulus.com I’ll be okay. I took it one day at a time and kept learning bit by bit until I felt comfortable to change things. I haven’t changed much yet, but in the coming months, I plan on doing a lot of things. A name change might even happen, but I don’t want to rush things. I’m going to keep learning and taking things one day at a time until I’m comfortable enough to take the next step.
I haven’t been healthy since before this year started. I got sick back in November and it’s been one set back after another. If I don’t have a fever I’m having some sort of allergic reaction and if that’s not happening I’m getting massive migraines that keep me in bed all day long. It’s been hard and today is the first day in a long time that I sort of feel like myself again.
On the gaming side of things, I’ve put about 40 hours into Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn. I’m enjoying it, but I’m not in love with it. My main problem with it is that I’m forced into playing alone because every quest that I do requires me to leave my party and do it alone which is the opposite of what an MMO does. I also don’t like the questing system. It’s very boring and the main quest isn’t much better. ESO has it beat in just about every category right now and I’m considering going back to that game after my subscription expires. Maybe I’m just not into dated MMOs anymore. Final Fantasy XIV is an old school MMO and I can understand the appeal to it, but I’m not sure if it’s for me yet. I’m probably going to put another 40 hours into it before my subscription expires so it’s $15 well spent in my opinion.
Global event 4 for The Division released not too long ago and it’s gotten back into it. I’m grinding for all the new gear sets before the event expires. I’ve already gotten all of the cosmetic items that are available so all I have to do is focus on getting as many GE Credits as possible before I run out of time. Hopefully, RNGesus is good to me because I’ve been getting nothing but kneepads lately.
The final game that I’ve been playing is brand new. I went out of my comfort zone and purchased Subnautica. I am not a fan of survival games. They’re overly difficult and don’t do a great job of introducing the player to their mechanics. Subnautica is different. It even lets me disable certain features that I don’t like, but I wanted the true experience and kept everything on for my first run. I don’t know if I like or hate the game yet, but I only played it for 20 minutes, but the fact that I want to jump back in and continue playing it is a good sign.
You’ve probably noticed that I’ve changed the way my blog looks again. I figured that since I was leaving WordPress for a new host I would start fresh with another new look. I actually paid for this one and over the next few days/weeks, I’ll be adding to this theme as I post more content here.
What have you guys been up to?
