CD Projekt Red announced that there will be no PS4 Pro version of The Witcher 3 and Playstation gamers are pretty mad at that.
Some developers have already pledged their support for the upcoming PS4 Pro. Uncharted 4, Titanfall 2, and Rise of The Tomb Raider will all take advantage of the extra power that the PS4 Pro and will either update their games or release new versions of them for the Pro.
CD Projekt Rec will not follow these other developers and I’m thankful for that. There’s already too many subpar remasters on the market already. I don’t want a half assed Witcher 3 version too. The Witcher 3 is fine as it is. There is nothing more CD Projekt Red can do for the game on consoles. Some people want CD Projekt Red to give the PS4 Pro the PC graphical options so they can “maximize” their graphics.
I don’t think these people know specs very well because my current setup can’t even reach 60fps with everything on Ultra in the Witcher 3. I capped my game at 30fps, downloaded a bunch of mods, got a nice reshade, and left hairworks on everything. The PS4 could barely reach a decent 30fps in The Witcher 3 and you guys want them to make it look even better? How about letting the PS4 Pro reach that benchmark before you start demanding better graphics from all of the games?
People don’t think like that though. Instead they rage at CD Projekt Red because they wont’ waste valuable resources on a game that they’ve already finished. They’ve moved on to Cyberpunk 2077 and I can’t wait to see that game in action. If CD Projekt Red upgrades The Witcher 3 for the PS4 Pro they’ll be obligated to do the same for the Xbox Scorpio because if they don’t they’ll split their fanbase in half on consoles.
The Scorpio’s version of The Witcher 3 would outperform the PS4 Pro and then you guys would ask for another update to match the Scorpio. When will it end? The Witcher 3 doesn’t need a update on consoles. If you pop your PS4 version of The Witcher 3 into the PS4 Pro will it work? Yes. And guess what? It’ll most likely perform at a solid fps. That’s more important then better graphics and a PS4 Pro version of The Witcher 3.
I’m glad CD Projekt Red said no. It takes a lot of courage to say no in a situation like this. I would rather play a bunch of different games from this developer instead of playing the exact same game with a coat of paint to appeal to the console masses.
What do you think?

Sep 18, 2016 4:00 amTotally agree – these upgrades cost developers money and if they’re not going to make money off it by drawing in more sales there’s little incentive to do it.
Right now it seems to be either developers releasing games soon or those close to Sony who have any incentive to put in the extra work. I imagine the same will happen with Microsoft with Scorpio but they’ll have 12 more months to learn the best way to handle it.

Sep 18, 2016 10:52 amI would prefer new IPs to play. Too many games are remasters these days. New IPs are rare these days and I miss them. I’m really happy that CD Projekt Red has moved on to their new IP. I’m really looking forward to it.

Sep 18, 2016 2:33 pmNo clue. I don’t own a PS4 or Bloodborne. From Software seems really focused on their three new IPs. I won’t be surprised if one of them is Bloodborne 2 for the PS4 and PS4 Pro.
