Justice League War Review

Spread the Word!

Wonder WomanWhen I learned that Aquaman had been taken out of this movie it really upset me. Aquaman is always overlooked and gets little to no respect from just about everyone. That being said this movie was pretty good. Justice League War is the very beginning of the Justice League. It’s when everyone met for the very first time and had to put aside their differences to stop Darksied from taking over the planet. Let’s go ahead and get the bad out of the way first. I didn’t like Superman in this movie. Yes he was awesome. He kicked a crap ton of ass during this movie but he was a jerk and just wasn’t Superman. He was arrogant, and as I just said a major douche.

He did kick the crap out of both Batman and Green Lantern [at the same time!] and honestly that was the highlight of the entire movie. Cyborg kicked some ass but honestly I would have preferred to see Aquaman instead of him. Wonder Woman acted like a teenager with a sword and even though she kicked the most ass in this movie she was also annoying and nothing like her usual self. Batman was Batman meaning he was awesome as always and as usual came up with a brilliant plan. The less I say about Shazam the better… he was just annoying and I wanted to throw my flat screen TV out the window. The Flash was The Flash which also means that he was freaking awesome.

29Darkseid was terrible in this movie. The entire plot was bad actually and made no sense. Yes we all know who Darkseid is for now but if this is the beginning of the Justice League then you’ll have to explain who this guy is for the plot. None of that happened. Instead all we got was an invasion and while it was awesome seeing everyone kick some major ass it was also boring because there was no meaningful bonding moments between these guys. The Justice League had a bond. They were all friends led by Superman, and Batman and we didn’t see that here. They didn’t even try to get along and even at the end of the movie they were still bickering back and forth at each other.

Justice League War has some very nice action sequences but the movie as a whole is very forgettable and does nothing but make these iconic heroes look bad. Justice League War is a 5/10.

The Flashpoint Paradox raised the bar too high.

The movie was enjoyable but I agree that most of everyone were really out of place as far as character goes. I know this was supposed to be the New 52 versions so change is their whole shtick but it really felt odd to those who love and know these characters. The Flash is always awesome, they don’t seem to change him much at all. Wonder Woman did seem a bit dim witted for the supposed Queen of The Amazons even if she’s supposed to be uncultured in that respect it felt like it was trying too hard. I don’t mind Superman being arrogant but I don’t like him being a jerk.

Now to the real point, Darksied. I didn’t like him. I loved the Superman Animated Series version even if he was brighter and cartoonie, he was one of the most intimidating villains of my childhood. I never felt that in this movie; he doesn’t fold his arms behind his back in that higher-than-thou level of confidence and superiority, they tried making him intimidating by making his voice too dark and void of any character.

This movie has good moments, not great in execution.

I agree. I would not have minded at all if Superman was just arrogant but a jerk is going too far in my opinion. Don’t even get me started on Shazam…

Doesn’t sound great. I think I would get bored by the constant action and lack of plot. Turning Superman into a douche sounds funny though.
