Lets Talk About Cyberpunk 2077!

Spread the Word!

Well shit this game looks good!

Where do I start?! We saw a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 today and all of it looked incredible. The big gameplay reveal took me completely by surprise. If I didn’t get back on Twitter I would have missed it. So… in this reveal we saw V (the main protagonist) walking around the massive looking city and talking to multiple people. I was more focused on what was happening around her. There was some choppiness in the frame rate, but this is alpha, or beta, footage that I was watching here. I didn’t expect it to perform amazingly, but it, surprisingly, did and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Do you want to know the only thing that was missing from this? The release date :(. There is no release date so we could still be a few years, I think we’ll have it next year Autumn, out.

This game looks like a much better version of Deus Ex. I love the setting and I love that it’s an RPG being made by one of the best developers out there. I think I get lost in this world and some of the cybernetic enhancements looked insane. I love the scan feature and I hope it works that way at launch and isn’t watered down. I love the gunplay. It looked really smooth and I like the look of the UI. The inventory screen looked nice and neat and the dialog was fantastic. Even the driving looked solid. At first I was disappointed because it was in first person, but as soon as the camera moved out and saw the car I was like this –

I like how open-ended this game seems to be. If we really have as many options as CD Projekt Red is claiming we have then this game’s replayability will be insane. And that was just one quest that we saw! If anything like the Bloody Baron is Cyberpunk we’re in for a real treat. One thing this developer does well is tell stories. The upgrade system looked pretty neat too. I didn’t expect to actually see the surgery being performed on V. I thought the screen would go black or something and when it didn’t I did this –

I love how detailed the demo was and it got me really excited for this game. I didn’t expect to hear (um… see) anything about this game and watching this gameplay reveal was a nice surprise. Cyberpunk 2077 just shot to the number 2 (The Elder Scrolls VI!) slot of my most anticipated games that I can’t wait to play! I made the comparison to Deus Ex up there because Deus Ex is another game that’s cyberpunk. So is Shadowrun, but that has nothing to do with Cyberpunk 2077. This game is what I’ve always wanted the Deus Ex games to be. It’s open, has a better protagonist already over that boring one from Deus Ex, and the gameplay looks better too. Another thing I think I’m going to love is the day/night cycle. I wonder if I can become a crime lord and rule the streets? It has street cred already so the next logical step, for me anyway, would be to rule the streets :).

If you can’t tell I’m pretty excited for this. I kept my expectations in check because there was barely any info on the game for a long time. And I’m still trying to keep my expectations in check because I know things could always change as development continues, but god damn it’s hard right now. I trust CD Projekt Red to deliver on this game. I haven’t played a bad game from them yet and hopefully this game will continue their streak of great games.

Did you watch the big reveal of Cyberpunk 2077? What do you think of it? Are you excited for it or not?
