First Impression Lets Talk About! Nintendo Switch 3

Lets Talk About Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2!

Spread the Word!

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is one of two games I purchased on my Switch today. So how is it?

I briefly played the first Xenoverse game. I put about 10 hours in it before I called it quits. I never gave it a fair chance because I was in the middle of other games and I didn’t have time for it. I like this game, but I’m not in love with it. The gameplay isn’t bad, but it pales with compared to other fighters out there. What I do like is the customization, story and multiplayer. I can team up with my friends and complete different missions, level up and unlock new moves.

I like the laid back approach too. Xenoverse 2 isn’t taking itself very seriously right now and I even chuckled a few times while playing it. Since this game is on the Switch you know there’s going to be a gimmick. Motion controls have made their way to Xenoverse 2 and I have no plans on ever trying them out. I don’t dream about performing Kamehameha’s and I’m not a huge fan of Goku.

The graphics are nice. The game looks good on the big screen and better in handheld mode. I ran the game flawlessly on my TV, but as soon as I undocked it my fps tanked. I’m hoping this is a bug because it only playable during fights. I couldn’t run around the main hub at all because of the frame drops.

Xenoverse 2 is a solid fighting game so far. I like my created character, I’m digging the story and I like the multiplayer aspects of the game. The customization is good too and that’s a major plus.

What do you think of Xenoverse 2? Have you played it before? Did you buy it on the Switch?

Grabbed my copy today. It’s cool they give you the entire campaign from xenoverse 1 for free.

That was a huge selling point to me for me since I’ve never completed the first game :).
