Lets Talk About MU Legend!

Spread the Word!

I’m always looking for new games to play. I was in the mood to play a good ARPG that’s not Diablo and I randomly stumbled across this game while looking through a list of MMOs to play.

Mu Legend is better than I thought it would be. A big turn off for me is the gender locked classes. I can’t play as a male archer or female warrior. If I want to be an archer I have to be female and I’ve always hated when MMOs forced me to do that. After creating my character I went into the game with low expectations. I really surprised when two hours had passed and I was still playing this game. I was having fun and that’s because MU Legend plays so well. It plays a lot like Diablo and it has a pretty decent story too. Its voice acted and my created character can talk. I was not expecting that from a game like this. The gameplay is what you would expect from an ARPG. You click your mouse to move and attack while pressing buttons to perform your special attacks. The quest is your generic kill X amount of enemies or talk to this NPC for more information, but that works in a game like this. I could easily see how Diablo III influenced this game. The level up screen looks identical to Diablo III’s paragon page. I can put points into my attack, critical hit rate, magic regeneration, etc. The whole system is really neat and I’ve managed to build a pretty good rogue/wizard.

The story is actually pretty interesting. The world was on the brink of collapse and our character is cutting his/her way towards the leaders of the army to make one final push. In the end, we lost the war and to prevent the world from being destroyed by demons our character is sent back in time to prevent everything from taking place. I haven’t gotten very far in the story yet, but I appreciate the fact that this game has one. Did I mention that MU Legend is free to play? All of this is happening in a free to play game. Most games that I buy don’t bother giving me a story and this free to play game does. I don’t see a bright future for this game. I like it, but it pales in comparison to Path of Exile and Grim Dawn. The community is very small in this game. I only came across two other people while playing. Maybe everyone else is in higher leveled zones or maybe the community is just that small. What is this game going to do when Lost Ark releases? It’s most likely going to get buried by the competition in the near future. I’m a little hesitant to continue playing because of that.

If you’re a fan of games like Path of Exile, Diablo, and Grim Dawn I recommend checking this game out. It’s fun, has good gameplay, a full story, but a really small community. It might be hard to find people to play with and that’s the biggest negative this game has right now. That could always change or maybe I’m wrong and the starting area is just barren while the rest of the game isn’t. I hope I’m wrong, but I doubt I am.

Have you played MU Legend? What did you think of it?
