I recently sat down and wrote my 6 favorite Playstation 4 games of all time. It’s now time for you to find out what my favorite Xbox One games are and, as usual, my list will most likely differ from yours so try not to be a raging child down in the comments, okay?
6. Crimson Dragon
Crimson Dragon was one of the first Xbox One games I ever played and it’s one the few exclusives I kept going back to. Crimson Dragon isn’t a masterpiece and won’t change the way you look at video games, but it’s fun. It’s fun customization my dragon and I like the gameplay loop. And that’s really all I need.
5. Forza Horizon 4
Forza Horizon 4 showed me that racing games could be fun again. I LOVE this game and I didn’t think I would. My son actually got me into this. He said, “daddy, I like this game more than Mario Kart. It’s my new favorite game.” and you know what? I agree. This is probably my new favorite racing game… like… ever. I can’t wait to see what the next Horizon game brings to the table.
4. Gears of War Ultimate
One of the best shooters of all time is next on my list. Gears of War Ultimate is the best Gears of War game on the Xbox One. Gears of War 4, and 5, couldn’t ever reach the levels that this game did for me. It’s just on another level. The gameplay is still fantastic, the visuals are amazing, and there’s nothing more satisfying than cutting an enemy in half with my chainsaw rifle.
3. Killer Instinct
Killer Instinct is one of my favorite fighting games of all time. If I ever made a list it would probably be in my top 3. This game is incredible and was so good that it never needed a sequel. It’s perfect. Absolutely perfect!
2. Halo Masterchief Collection
All of the Halo’s that matter are in one great place. Halo Masterchief Collection is pretty much my teenage years crammed into one great experience. This legendary FPS franchise has gotten really stale since Bungie left and created Destiny, but the core games in the series will always hold a special place in my heart.
1. Ori and the Blind Forest.
When I made this list I already knew what game would be number 1. Ori and the Blind Forest is another one of those games that I consider damn near perfect. I never played Will of the Wisp and I know I’ll get to that one day. Blind Forest was an emotional roller coaster that never let up and by the end of it, I wanted more. It’s, without a doubt in my mind, the best Xbox One game of all time.
