Top Ten Best Games Top Ten List Xbox One 8

My Favorite Xbox One Games of All Time!

Spread the Word!

I recently sat down and wrote my 6 favorite Playstation 4 games of all time. It’s now time for you to find out what my favorite Xbox One games are and, as usual, my list will most likely differ from yours so try not to be a raging child down in the comments, okay?

6. Crimson Dragon

Crimson Dragon was one of the first Xbox One games I ever played and it’s one the few exclusives I kept going back to. Crimson Dragon isn’t a masterpiece and won’t change the way you look at video games, but it’s fun. It’s fun customization my dragon and I like the gameplay loop. And that’s really all I need.

5. Forza Horizon 4

Forza Horizon 4 showed me that racing games could be fun again. I LOVE this game and I didn’t think I would. My son actually got me into this. He said, “daddy, I like this game more than Mario Kart. It’s my new favorite game.” and you know what? I agree. This is probably my new favorite racing game… like… ever. I can’t wait to see what the next Horizon game brings to the table.

4. Gears of War Ultimate

One of the best shooters of all time is next on my list. Gears of War Ultimate is the best Gears of War game on the Xbox One. Gears of War 4, and 5, couldn’t ever reach the levels that this game did for me. It’s just on another level. The gameplay is still fantastic, the visuals are amazing, and there’s nothing more satisfying than cutting an enemy in half with my chainsaw rifle.

3. Killer Instinct

Killer Instinct is one of my favorite fighting games of all time. If I ever made a list it would probably be in my top 3. This game is incredible and was so good that it never needed a sequel. It’s perfect. Absolutely perfect!

2. Halo Masterchief Collection

All of the Halo’s that matter are in one great place. Halo Masterchief Collection is pretty much my teenage years crammed into one great experience. This legendary FPS franchise has gotten really stale since Bungie left and created Destiny, but the core games in the series will always hold a special place in my heart.

1. Ori and the Blind Forest.

When I made this list I already knew what game would be number 1. Ori and the Blind Forest is another one of those games that I consider damn near perfect. I never played Will of the Wisp and I know I’ll get to that one day. Blind Forest was an emotional roller coaster that never let up and by the end of it, I wanted more. It’s, without a doubt in my mind, the best Xbox One game of all time.

I’ll try not to throw a tantrum! 🙂

Good choice of games! Halo MCC has really changed over the years and has finally reached that point of being the kind of compilation the series (and Xbox) deserved. Forza Horizon is awesome… all I need to say! I had not thought of Crimson Dragon in a LONG time! Think that may have been close to a launch game… ?

I think it was either a launch game or launched shortly after the X1 did. I’m curious. What would your list look like?

I think I might get inspired by you to do a list like this in the future too because it really makes you think about what you found important in your games and to whittle it down to the best. 🙂

I might choose Forza Horizon 3 for the Australian theme and Hot Wheels tracks though Lego in 4 is awesome! Would stick with Halo MCC – it’s worth bring in every Xbox owner’s collection. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt I was late in finishing but I’m in awe on the end product and the story told. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus for the sheer craziness of what they pulled off in story and general insanity. Elite Dangerous would be my edge case… It’s not for many people but it works for me and I still play it even now. Think I could add more but a good place to start! 🙂

Nice list! I tried to keep my list to exclusive games, but I am working on a “best of the generation” list and The Witcher 3 will be really, really high on it if not at the very top. I never got into Elite Dangerous. I had a friend gift me a copy on Steam despite my warnings not to and I never even played it with him. The New Colossus was excellent. Great story, awesome gameplay, awesome characters, and one twisted ass antagonist. I never played Horizon 3, but I think I would prefer it to 4 because of the setting and, as you said, Hot Wheels! According to your list, we have a lot in common!

I was tempted to add Remnant to my list, but since I mostly played it on PC I thought it would look better there.

Picking Xbox exclusives over other games on the platform is a hard job with so much else out there! Might be different next gen but they had to spend big for those studios. Elite is definitely an acquired taste – great if you love that kind of thing (space trucking) but I have stories of friends giving up after an hour of crashing ships too!

Ori is an amazing series. It was like watching a Miyazaki movie. I started on Will of the Wisps, but only saw a few episodes. I really liked it though.

I have yet to start Will of Wisp because I’ve been really focused on clearing up my backlog this year. That’s going horribly by the way :-).

Psh tell me about it. I just started playing Broken Age which I’ve had for years. I have at on of PlayStation games I could play, too, but I’m lazy and the Switch is just so much easier to pick up. I could just play PS4 games on my Vita by remote play so I should honestly start doing that.
