Lets Talk About! Nintendo Switch PC 3

My New PC and Switch Games

Spread the Word!

I’ve added quite a few games to my collection on both PC and the Nintendo Switch. Some of them I really love and others I don’t, but that’s how it goes right?

Nintendo Switch

Mercenaries Wings: The False Phoenix

I had the urge to play a game like Fire Emblem. I’ve already played Regalia of Men and Monarchs to death and I wanted something new so I bought a game called Mercenaries Wings The False Phoenix. The Mercenaries games were some of my favorite SRPGs on the 3DS and I’m really happy that they made their way to the Switch. There’s even a neat physical edition that I want to get my hands on. This game is the newest on in the series and so far I’m really enjoying it. It’s a really slow-paced game though. One battle can take anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes and I just don’t know if I have that kind of patience anymore. The story is interesting so far and I like the class system. I haven’t played a lot of it yet because of the slow pace, but that’ll probably change soon.

Chocobo Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy

This game is hard. Fuck Sekiro and Devil May Cry 5 they don’t have anything on Chocobo Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy. I’ve died more times in this game than I have in both DMC5 and Sekiro combined. I love the fact that this is a Final Fantasy spinoff of a Wii game. If you’re familiar with the older, or Final Fantasy 14 MMO, then you’ll recognize the cool classes that the Chocobo can change too. I only started the game as a freelancer and eventually unlocked the knight, black mage and white mage classes. This game is fun and I play it a little every night before I go to bed.

Gems of War

I haven’t played this game yet, but I am a fan of the Puzzle Quest games and this game looks good. It’s free to play so the odds of it being pay to win is probably pretty high, but I do want to check it out anyway to see if I like it.

Hob just released on the Switch. It’s the definitive edition of the game as far as I’m concerned. It’s also the ugliest version of the game by far, but it plays really well and the problems that the original game had aren’t present here. The camera doesn’t fight you anymore and it’s a more enjoyable experience. I feel like this game belongs on a handheld device and I’m in love with it right now. After Runic Games left Torchlight I didn’t expect much from them so it’s nice to see another game from them even if it’s not Torchlight 3.

YS: Memories of Celcetta

I’ve finally bought a YS game! Memories of Celcetta is regarded as one of the weaker YS titles, but I wanted to play a somewhat recent game in this series that didn’t break the bank. I’m really liking this game, but I’ve only played it for about 30 minutes so far. I got sidetracked with a game that’s going to be popping up a little later on this list.

Shining Resonance Refrain

I’ve only played this game for an hour and I’m already in love with it. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Shining games even though most of them aren’t available here. It’s really nice to visit this series again and I really like the characters and story that this game has so far. The gameplay is pretty good too. I don’t really know what more I can say about a game that I’ve put such little time into.

Borderlands Game of the Year Enhanced Edition

My most played game on this list is this one. I already have over 20 hours in this game and it just released a few days ago. I plan on playing it some more tonight before I go to bed. I love Borderlands and it makes me sad that this game is super buggy right now. I’m using Mordecai, but I’ve also leveled up Lilith and Roland and I’ll probably use Brick too at some point. The best part about this game is that I’m playing it with my wife. Borderlands 2 is one of her favorite games of all time and she’s been incredibly happy, frustrated, with this game since we started playing it.

Borderlands: The Pre-sequel

I caved and purchased this game again as part of the Handsome Jack Collection. I originally played through this game with my wife on the Xbox One. I don’t know if I’m going to play through this game again right now, but I’ve had major Borderlands fever lately so the odds of me playing this again are quite high.

And that’s all I have right now. I am planning on buying Final Fantasy 12 when it releases on the Switch and a few other titles that I have wishlisted. What have you added to your gaming library lately?

I think I bought that Shining Resonance from Brad but I haven’t had time to play it yet lol. Story of my life. I’m only playing one story-based game right now: Final Fantasy VI since I DNF’d Doki Doki Literature Club for being WAY too creepy for me.

Final Fantasy VI is fantastic so you chose a good game there. I haven’t tried Doki Doki yet, but I heard it’s a complete mind fuck lol. Shining Resonance is great. I love it and I hope you do too.

I’m still working on it! I’ve played it before, but it’s part of my replay/review project. I need to play III myself since I wound up watching a less than superb Let’s Player, but I didn’t have any other way to access it. I have it on DS now. I think I’m going to enjoy Shining Resonance, too! I’m excite to play it.
