Playstation 4 8

My PS4 Pro Broke :(

Spread the Word!

My peeps on Twitter already know about this. I’ve decided to make it public knowledge that I can no longer play on my PS4. It got fried somehow. A surge completely fried the inside of it. I’ve always been super careful with my consoles and PCs. This has never happened to me before. I rarely touched my PS4 Pro and when I did it was just to play some Bloodborne. I tried getting into Days Gone but it sucks. It really, really sucks.

I tried getting into Naughty Dog games like The Last of Us and Uncharted and they’re honestly really average games that try their best to be movies. So I stuck with what I loved and that’s Bloodborne and Persona. I was so close to getting my second platinum trophy in Bloodborne. My PS4 was working perfectly the night before it died. So I’m not going to be able to write about PS4 related topics here for awhile. I’m not going to buy a new PS4. I rarely touched the one I had and I’m currently debating on if it’s worth spending $150 to repair the one I have now. It sucks. I did enjoy gaming on my PS4 and I had just bought a new game on it shortly before this happened. If I decide to repair it I’ll update this. For now, I’m just a PC & Switch gamer.

That blows, but based on what I’ve been seeing Sony doing, you may never need to buy another one of their consoles again.

That’s true. If they go the Microsoft route I won’t have to buy the PS5 and that’ll be great because I’ve never really liked Playstation consoles. I would only need my Switch and PC and that would save me a lot of money :).

Was really sorry to hear about that happening. 🙁

No matter how much or how little you’d been playing on it recently there were some games you really enjoyed on the system and not being able to get back to them sucks. Fingers crossed the apocalypse arrives and more of Sony’s games start showing up on PC. 😉

It seems like we’re going to be getting quite a few of the PS4s first-party exclusives. I really hope Bloodborne and Persona 5 make the jump. In Persona 5’s case, that’s entirely up to Sega though. Sony doesn’t own that IP.

I do miss turning my PS4 on and gaming on my TV. And I’ll admit that sometimes I don’t want to game on my PC. I want to sit back in my recliner with a beer in my hand and just play some PS games.

That sucks. I think PS4s still go for around $300, so I don’t know if it would be wroth it to fix it (when it might break again) or pick up a new one, though if you’ve found games you enjoy more with other systems it might not be worth it. Or if you could wait until the PS5 drops. I believe I heard that was going to be completely backwards compatible, but of course if you have digital stuff, I don’t know if that will transfer.

I sold my PS4 as is and got rid of what little physical games I had for it. I made $280 and put that towards an Xbox One X and only had to pay $150 out of pocket for it. Since I can count on one hand how many Sony exclusives I like I decided not to get another PS4. It’s just not worth it to me and I don’t think I’m going to be very interested in the PS5. I love my new Xbox though and it feels weird to own one again. My son loves it more than I do. Forza Horizon 4 has beaten Mario Kart 8 as his favorite game of all time.

That makes sense if you’re not concerned about the exclusives. There aren’t that many at this point, I don’t think. I’m still not sure why any game company would have exclusives, though I suppose it has to do with contracts and what have you. Like I know Halo is probably locked into a blood pact with Microsoft/Xbox lol.

The Xbox is a better companion to my PC since it supports cross-buy and cross-save. Crossplay too. The PS4… is honestly, to me anyway, not a very good console. It’s my least favorite of the bunch and sounds like a battleship when you’re gaming on it. My One X purrs like a kitten when I boot it up. I will miss Bloodborne and Persona 5 and if I ever get another Playstation console it would be for those games. I don’t miss it at all right now though. I even sold my small collection of physical games on it because I don’t plan on going back.
